BROWNSVILLE, Texas (Valley Central) — The Brownsville Independent School District’s superintendent still has a job after a school board meeting Tuesday night.
Without an explanation, there was a failed attempt to terminate Jesus H. Chavez.
CBS4’s Derick Garcia was at the meeting Tuesday night and reported that many teachers from the district stood up for Chavez. They also called the attempt by several board members “petty” and “unnecessary.”
“We have individuals who want to waste our time on this consuming and weird and intense focus on firing the superintendent,” Adina Alegria, a TVEA executive director, said.
Board trustees Carlos Elizondo and Minerva Pena pushed to have Chavez’s termination on Tuesday’s agenda.
When asked if she believes there is an agenda behind this, Alegria replied, “Yes. I firmly believe that there is. I don’t think that there would be such a witch hunt and now it has just become weird.”

What is wrong with Minervita Pena and Elizondo? You see, that is why you should think before voting for your friends to get into Office. In Brownsville, the friends of these two individuals voted for them and got them into the School Board. Now it is time for their friends to contact them and tell them to behave.
Social Media says that Elizondo confronted the Chief Financial Officer and bullied him and intimidated him. Then the Secretary intervened and tried to stop the aggression. The Secretary was reprimanded and put on leave for ONE MONTH without PAY for trying to placate Elizondo. The Power of the School Board.
Do BISD School Board Members get paid? or is it a volunteer service to the community?
Dr. Chavez retired, superintendent of Harlingen, Corpus Christi, Round Rock. He wanted to help the students of Brownsville so he accepted the offer. Board President Jessica G. Gonzalez and Trustees Denise Garza, Daniella Lopez Valdez and Eddie Garcia voted in favor, with Frank Ortiz and Carlos Elizondo against. (Erasmo Castro and Minerva Pena were not in the Board)
Teachers respect this Jesus Chavez. Students admire him ( a poor kid from Porter High School) and Parents support him.

That “poor kid” from Porter shut down schools last year that were all from the Southmost area. Tell me you hate where you’re from without telling me! All the money they saved from closing those schools and BISD didn’t do anything to better the other schools in the Southmost area.

I have known Carlos Elizondo AKA "La Rata Pelona" for many years, and everything said about his character is 100% true. He is a thief, a liar, a bully, and a snitch. His typical tactic is to provoke arguments by harassing others into verbal confrontations, only to then file grievances or charges against those who expose his incompetence and prove him wrong.
As a Firefighter/EMS, he routinely abused the public’s trust. He cowardly avoided EMS calls, stole wheelchairs from hospitals, and trashed medical documents to avoid completing the required paperwork, costing the City valuable EMS revenue. He frequently sabotaged emergency equipment to take his unit out of service, abandoning his duties and forcing others to handle emergency calls in his place. He even disconnected GPS tracking devices on EMS units so he could sneak away to visit his mistress. On multiple occasions, he shamelessly bragged about sleeping with women he'd meet at bars after our annual ARFF training in Laredo, Texas.
As Fire Chief, he stole money from Firefighter Union 970 to fund his wife’s lavish lifestyle, living well beyond their means. He abused his authority through lies and intimidation. Esta RATA PELONA is a full-fledged narcissist, and his failures are entirely his own doing. That is why he was FIRED as Fire Chief—and why he will forever be remembered by past, present, and future firefighters as the biggest disgrace in the history of the Brownsville Fire Department.

Minerva, was a worthless State Trooper, who filed discrimination lawsuits so she could keep an office job. I remember Minerva would and still treats waiters like trash yelling and screaming at them when her order was not to her liking, Minerva loves to hide behind her Bible and claims to be a disciple of god,.
