These Joint Resolutions of Disapproval would have blocked $8.8 billion in new weapons deliveries to Israel. S.J.Res 33 would have blocked the delivery of 2,000 pound bombs, indiscriminate weapons which the Israeli military has used to level entire blocks in Gaza, in one instance killing 39 Palestinian children in Gaza City.
The Biden administration had blocked the transfer of these weapons because they cannot be used precisely.
