There’s no question that the most egregious upward redistribution of dollars in the House Republican budget-reconciliation bill involves Medicaid cuts. Over 70 million Americans get their health insurance from Medicaid, and estimates are that more than 10 million of them could lose eligibility under the House version of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.” But what’s getting less attention is that the bill will also include even more drastic measures affecting the 41 million Americans who pay for their groceries with the help of another big safety-net program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP).
Formerly known as the “food stamp” program before paper coupons were replaced by Electronic Benefit Transfer cards, SNAP has from its inception in 1964 been a program where the federal government pays benefits and then splits the administrative costs down the middle with the states. A strictly means-tested program, SNAP offers average food-purchase subsidies of $726 per month to a family of four. So it’s rather crucial to the ability of low-income Americans to feed themselves.

Take a minute to stop and think. The prices on all goods have been going up since COVID! That was the excuse, which was understandable. But years later you can no longer blame COVID. What’s going on now is plain price gouging. On top of this if you remember Biden went on national television and told the American people to ask for more money, which they continue to do. When a company has to pay more in salaries guess who has to pay for the difference. So before blaming our current president look back at the previous administrations actions.
Quit your scare tactics. If anyone is going to lose benefits its those people that through the years have abused the system. These give away programs should be for the most in need. I for one have witnessed where people from across the border pay for their groceries with a gold food stamp card. Time to reel in the wasteful programs.

Let me mention that Trump's ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL in tax cuts will come with consequences. Lower-income Americans will bear the brunt of this TAX BILL. It favors the wealthy in case you dont know.

There's too much to say on here, but this bill will mostly benefit wealthier individuals and corporations. They've already laid off NOAA, which employed individuals who study and forecast the weather and will not be able to use the modules used to predict extreme weather patterns. Air Traffic controllers have been let go. Hospitals, like MDAnderson in Houston has had funding cuts to its research programs and treatments. So if you want to go to Houston to get treated, good Luck. Universities have had their research labs cut too, unless they do away with DEI, otherwise the dictator in the White House will not give them any monies. So again, those of you Trumpers who scream that there is abuse in the system, you better get with the program. Especially here in the Valley, the poorest area in the nation. If you haven't felt it yet, you must be living under a rock or are just plain stupid.
Oh you see FOX news. There's the problem. You believe Fox? They have been sued for lying. They had to pay millions.
