ALMOST 200 PALESTINIAN JOURNALISTS KILLED BY ISRAELIS IN GAZA

Mariam Dagga: A visual journalist and a 33-year-old mother, she was known for human-centered reporting from southern Gaza, including at Nasser Hospital, where she was killed in an Israeli strike in August 2025. During the war, she worked for The Associated Press and Independent Arabia. The strike that killed her also claimed the lives of rescuers and four other journalists.

Since the war began in Gaza, 189 Palestinian journalists have been killed, according to the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists.

They include men and women, freelancers and staffers, veterans with years in the field and young reporters on some of their first assignments. Some were killed with their families at home, others were in vehicles marked “PRESS,” or in tents near hospitals, or out covering the violence. Many endured the same conditions as those they covered – hunger, displacement, and grief.

Israel has accused some of the journalists killed of involvement with militant groups, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad – charges that journalists and their outlets have dismissed as baseless. Israel’s military did not respond to an Associated Press request for comment about the CPJ data.

Figures and methodologies may differ among groups that track journalist deaths. CPJ said it “independently investigates and verifies the circumstances behind each death,” including to verify journalists’ lack of involvement in militant activities.

The Associated Press (AP) has been classified as exhibiting a "Lean Left" bias based on various surveys, including a Blind Bias Survey conducted by AllSides in May 2023. It is important to note that many journalists, primarily Palestinians, who have lost their lives in the conflict were reportedly affiliated with Hamas and were present at locations targeted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). While the IDF has implemented restrictions in certain areas of Gaza, some journalists have chosen to operate in these zones, which can pose significant risks to their safety. Entering a conflict zone inherently involves danger, and the realities of warfare can lead to tragic outcomes. This conflict is likely to persist until Hamas surrenders, an outcome they have yet to pursue. It is essential to recognize that the initiation of hostilities was not provoked, and Iran's support for Hamas further complicates the situation. Consequently, responsibility for the casualties in Gaza should be directed toward Hamas and its allies.

Good. Blame the dead people. The truth is that Republicans do not approve of the AP so they label them as left and liberal. So those journalists are troublemakers to the Republicans. Most independent surveys say the AP is Center, Middle. Go figure it out. Republicans do not like the AP so they are not friends with them.

"The Associated Press is perceived by many as a media organization influenced by left-leaning perspectives."

The Palestinians have no army, no navy or Air Force. They have been fighting an occupying force bolstered by the strongest superpower in the world. Israel and the US have nukes. The Palestinians launch homemade rockets. Democrats and Republican administrations have supported Israel to the hilt. A land grab and establishment of
Illegal settlements continues
unabated. This era will be whitewashed just like they are
attempting to do with slavery.

There were six terrorists on the upper floor that were the target of the strikes.
None of this would be happening if Hamas hadn't targeted young kids at a music festival to slaughter, terrorists gleefully filming and publishing their gopro footage online. It's unfortunate when journalists make a dumb choice to work around terrorists. But the fact is no "journalism" comes out of Gaza without Hamas pre approval and orchestration, with sacrificial victims sent for the clicks, likes, shares, "Donate Now to Gaza!!" buttons, etc etc etc..
