The most recent major medical breakthrough was the elimination of smallpox which was announced in 1980 following a successful worldwide vaccination effort. Since then although there have been big improvements in treating many diseases finding complete cures is still uncommon. Sadly all these treatments come with many side effects. At first leading scientists and doctors told us that coffee butter and lard were unhealthy. After many years we were informed that everything was fine. Now it’s Tylenol.
