VICTORIA, Texas - On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, around 4 a.m., Victoria County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 North and Midway Road North. Deputies found a large sum of money and arrested the driver.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Sergio Guadalupe Villafuerte, 28, of Brownsville, was taken into custody.

Villafuerte is charged with Money Laundering ($30,000 < $150,000), Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument, and a violation of the Money Services Act.
