A Brownsville man was sentenced to a total of 40 years in Judge Raquel West’s 252 nd Criminal District Court after pleading guilty to two intoxication manslaughter deaths.
Salvador Gamez, 52, had elected to have Judge West decide punishment. The punishment was decided after a hearing Monday morning. Prosecutor Luke Nichols argued on behalf of the State of Texas.
During the early morning hours of June 14, 2024, Camille Marti and Loren Icenhower Stacks were killed instantly when their car was hit head on by a pickup truck traveling the wrong way on U.S. 69 in front of the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
Blood tests revealed that Salvador Gamez, the driver of the pickup, had a blood alcohol level of .157 nearly 5 hours after the collision. Gamez had three previous misdemeanor convictions in Virginia and Cameron County, Texas. Investigation showed that Gamez had been drinking at a restaurant and then a strip club that evening, according to information from the court.
Prosecutor Luke Nichols stated, “This is a senseless tragedy that devastated several families and an entire community. The families are pleased that Judge West chose the maximum punishment available.” Loren Icenhower Stacks had been married less than three weeks at the time of her death. Camille Marti was engaged to be married.
This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and Nederland Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorney Luke Nichols.

Whose his hair stylist?
His hairstylist is Clayton Wayne Nehaus. They were locked up together for the same thing except Clayton got a month in jail and Gamez got 40 years. Clayton is working on his cosmetology degree and doing great. He even turned a new leaf and is part of TPUSA. Charlie Kirk is his hero and Jesus.

Mala tomada. There are a lot of people that drink but some have mala tomada and they create chaos when drunk.
