(Ed.'s Note: It's bad enough that the turnout in Brownsville had been less than 1,000 votes in the first three days days, but a function for the private Kenmont Montessori school behind the main library - the busiest voting site for local elections - made access to the site virtually impossible for potential voters.
A voting clerk said that when they arrived to open the polls the rear library parking lot facing the school was already packed.
"Im sure some votes were discouraged and left when they couldn't find parking because of the event over there," she said.
A cursory drive around a two-block area from Central Blvd., N. Coria Street, and Wildrose Lane showed that the area was clogged with traffic from parents and relatives of the private school students who were attending the function. Ironically, there are two bond propositions for improvements in the Brownsville Independent School District which may be adversely affected by the lack of voting access to the site.)

Every summer, they should maintain the schools: Clean, Paint, Fix. Every summer the schools are abandoned and two weeks before school begins they cut the grass etc
Performing Arts Center !!! For what? The City of Brownsville has museums, convention centers that are not used at all. They can also close the streets to showcase the students work in certain days. VOTE NO.

BISD is for losers whose parents send them to school not to learn but to get fed and babysat while being disruptive in class. The lack of discipline by BISD administrators prevents kids from learning. As long as TEA pays for attendance and not productivity enrollment in other schools would be a better option.
