MAQUINA 501: A TRUE CORRIDO ABOUT A BRAVE TRAIN ENGINEER

JESUS GARCIA
In 1907, Jesús García, a young Mexican railroad engineer, saved the entire town of Nacozari de García by driving a burning train full of dynamite 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) away before it exploded.

García was working as a railroad engineer for the Moctezuma Copper Company, which operated trains between the mining town of Nacozari and the nearby city of Agua Prieta.

On November 7, 1907, García was assigned to move a train loaded with dynamite used for mining operations. During a routine stop, sparks from the engine’s smokestack ignited a boxcar filled with dynamite. Flames quickly spread, threatening to detonate the entire cargo while the train was still stationed near the center of town.

Realizing the catastrophic consequences if the explosives went off, García made a fateful decision. He ordered his crew to jump off and then climbed into the locomotive himself, pulling the throttle wide open. He drove the burning train out of the town at full speed, covering nearly six kilometers before the dynamite exploded. García, only twenty-six years old, was perished instantly.

In recognition of his heroism, the town of Nacozari was later renamed Nacozari de García in his honor.

Monuments, songs, and poems were dedicated to him throughout Mexico, and his story became a cornerstone of Mexican national pride. Schools, streets, and even stamps were issued in his name.

Each year on November 7, Mexicans celebrate the Día del Ferrocarrilero (Railroad Workers’ Day), commemorating Jesús García as a man who gave his life to save an entire town.

Why should this interest me since I'm not a Mexican? I wasn't born in Mexico. I have never lived in Mexico. I have never worked in Mexico. And to be honest don't give a shit about Mexico. It's a corrupt country run by drug traffickers and human smugglers. Fact!

Gah dang, that looks like a young Val Kilmer (ice man)

6:41 You are correct, there is corruption in Mexico. But their leader is not a
convicted sexual assault, felon or a bankruptcy addled "stable genius." Someone who acts as though he's above the law and disregards Habeus Corpus and violates the Emoluments Clause. The Mexican president has a PH.D. in energy engineering. She was a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which earned her recognition in the form of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Direct your Mexico-bashing hate
elsewhere. Mexico doesn't need you or your biased bullshit.

There is a "Taqueria 501" in McAllen (N. 10th Street) When I asked the owner why that name, he referenced this guy and this story. . .

☕️, wait what! Let me enjoy my coffee. What’s this crying fake outrage. Over you democrats, twisting the law in order to caharge a man. Only to come back and crying has started.

Democrats sound like pull-string talkie dolls as they line up to tremble their lower lips and cry about what Awful Orange Man is doing to their beloved Attorney General Letitia James.

It only took about five minutes after the announcement of her federal mortgage-fraud indictment for Dems near and far to wring their handkerchiefs about the injustice of it all.

“No one should be surprised that Donald Trump is employing fascist tactics,” fretted mayoral wannabe Zohran Mamdani.

“Prosecuting his opponents, weaponizing the federal government, and attacking the very fabric of our democracy.”

“Keep your corrupt, grubby, abusive hands off Tish James, Donald Trump!” squeaked city Comptroller Brad Lander.
Pot, have you met the kettle?
We have some concerns here, but please: Tish James set the pattern that Democrats now charge President Trump and the Justice Department with following.

In her 2018 run for attorney general, she indicated that bankrupting Trump would be one her top priorities.

And: “I look forward to going into the office of attorney general, every day, suing him, and then going home.”

If you love Mexico so much what the hell are you doing here? Go back to your beloved country with your Mexican president who may have a PH.D. in energy engineering but bends over to the cartels who really run the country.

11:26 How does it feel to be a MAGA cultist? To lower your morals and standards to defend an indefensible pariah?
A shameless, pompous, and
egotistical bigot that enriches himself and his cronies at the expense of hardworking Americans? His first term ended in a recession and this term is heading into the same abyss. Blaming immigrants and cartels is just a lame distraction. You should go back to Europe or whatever country your ancestors were exiled from. No te necesitamos. 🖕🏽

Americans need to isolate. That is a requirement of a dictatorship.

Well, there are people in Finland that love the USA. They buy tons and tons of American objects and created an American villa. They have American food, American cars, etc They love Finland, they just like America because of the movies. Yep, American movies control the world. American Music also control the world. So Mexico has a good history, good music and good food. Some people just love Mexico for fun.

Americans love the USA but they live in San Miguel de Allende, Oaxaca, and in some resorts in Jalisco. They go there to retire and to spend less money enjoying life. The cartels have nothing to do with politicians. They do their business without the help of anybody. They give gifts because they are grateful to earn big money. They know how to share the big dollars.

Great coworker: the fogonero told the engineer, we have a burning car, lets get out of here. But he said NO. You all save yourself and in a steep curve going uphill, Jesus Garcia crashed the train. That is why the garroteros cry. They knew how difficult it is to use the breaks to stop a train.
