DESPITE DENIED BONDS, BISD LEADS STATEWIDE TOP 10 CATEGORIES

Que tal pollos los de BISD?

Children at Risk, a research and advocacy nonprofit, has released its 2024-2025 Texas school rankings – and three Rio Grande Valley schools earned a top spot on the statewide rankings list.

Children at Risk’s ranking system for Texas public schools measures several factors, including student achievement, progress, performance gaps, campus performance, and student growth.

The Gold Ribbon distinction highlights schools that serve predominantly low-income populations and still achieve strong academic outcomes.

The following Rio Grande Valley schools were ranked on the statewide Gold Ribbon schools list:

Top 10 Texas Gold Ribbon High Schools:
Ranked #6 Brownsville Early College High School (Brownsville Independent School District).
Ranked #8 Mission Collegiate High School (Mission Consolidated Independent School District)
Top 10 Texas Gold Ribbon Elementary Schools:
Ranked #10 General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary (Rio Grande City-Grulla ISD)

The nonprofit’s regional analysis on Rio Grande Valley schools found that while the share of A-rated schools declined slightly, the region maintained the second-highest campus performance score in Texas. Children at Risk says the RGV holds the second-highest number of Gold Ribbon designations with 33 percent.

Key findings show that the RGV achieved the second-highest campus performance score in Texas at a B-, reflecting overall achievement for low-income students.

The schools and students were not the reason that the bond didn't pass. It was the thieving school board. Prime examples La Rata Pelona and politics within BISD

I noticed that no Brownsville charter school made it to the list

The schools that got the accolades keep parents in the loop. They demand parents to be present in the academic world of their kids. IDEA stresses the students and staff on a daily basis and that is why they do not appear in the list for Brownsville.

Yea, and I wish I could sue bisd for the shit education I received. I wish IDEA would have been around when I was a kid.

Puro numero uno en el BISD.

They are not saying the list of BISD. They are referring to the ranking list. BISD got on the ranking list charter schools didn't.

The problem with you is that you never took and have not taken responsibility/ownership of your learning. Grow up.

Since bisd is 20 to 30 million dollars in debt, I wonder how they came up with the money to get a good report about them. It is like lawyers that pay to get a “top 10 in the nation” trophy 🏆 but it is not true.
And as far as the board and “super” when is the Texas Education Agency going to come to town and take over? They did that in Houston and my ex-gf was laid off in Austin. It will happen…

Texas government doesn't care about education. Funding is a good litmus test on how functional our educational system is and we suck. Instead lets focus on board members quid pro quo contracts, I'm sure that's where half a billion dollars went because that's what's needed? ZZzzzZzzzzzz. It's like we're worried about a paper cut because it stings more than a brain tumor.

Come on Republicans - you are supposed to be the party of “Family Values” - prove it - ask for the release of the Epstein files!

Don't blame the messenger, son.....you simply DID NOT get the message. But all is not lost, a person that wants to learn never stops learning. Don't fret, go to the library and READ.

IDEA (which is a PUBLIC school and governed by the same Texas Education Agency as BISD) is mentioned 11 times in the list that Juan Montoya puts together here. IDEA Riverview is in Brownsville in case you didn't know. IDEA Frontier located in Southmost, was ranked in the top 1 percent in the United States by US News & World report. Instead of bashing charter schools, BISD should get their house in order and take ownership of their shortcomings. Going after any charter or private school that is providing a better education and exposing their failures is not a solution. The reason the bond did not pass is because Brownsville citizens are sick and tired of the board's dumb decisions and the board trying to pass a bond while schools are being shut down because of low enrollment. They are ALL guilty.

November 14th 9:19 am you must be one of the shit teachers at BISD! LOL !! The worst school district in Texas. You better hope your school does not get closed doe because IDEA will not hire you…

I can answer your question. The same way city of Brownsville, The Port, PUB and “Top Lawyer s” get BS awards. They are called Association Awards. When you are a paying member of the association, you will receive accolades. Nobody believes PUB, COB or the Port is the best at anything…. Association Awards are complete BS, bought and paid for…. I work in the industry so I know….

IDEA is a charter school? The Raul Yzaguirre is a charter school? Yes. So, charter schools are in the ranking list.

Idea sucks
Good luck if you're kids go there

You think TEA wants to deal with BIDS students? Despite all the positive we are still the land that God forgot.

Parents are the key for learning in school. Do not give a long rope to your kids. May I go to a party dad? mom? NO.
May I wake up at 2:00 PM because I was online all night? NO May I do what I want to do because if not I go away from home? NO. it is always a NO until they are 30 years old and they can support themselves.

Congratulations to Dr.Raquel Ayala and staff for their repeated awards.
.”As is the principal, so is the school!. Question: If we have several elementary school on the list, where and why do we lose them in middle school? Get the highly paid area supts to study guide the principals and staff on strategies that’s have been proven valid and reliable! Get supt to do his job!

I was not only a teacher in my other life I was a BISD student. I also taught outside the Valley. If I took responsibility for my learning and education why can't others? Si te quedaste de marrano atorado fue porque quisiste. Stop blaming others for your stupidity.

I know your kids and they're monsters. They talk about sin and Jesus but l know hookers and crackheads who have better ethics and morals than your kids. Like father like son.

BISD needs to concentrate in the Middle Schools. That is where the change will work. The students need everything. IDEA has a ranch, an agriculture program ???? Who gave them permission to do that? The parents need to complain. (Not even Los Fresnos, nor Harligen, nor San Benito have that).

To monkey nuts, epstein files and frank, quit being delusional. In another country (mexico) you can do a 16 year-old and no one cares. You all crying about trump need serious help. I don’t care for hom either but it is not my life’s mission to trash your “orange jesus” instead wht dont you communists remember the Real Democrat Party, JFK “don’t ask what your government can do for you, ask what you can do for the government”
Pobres Vatos complaining about epstein and trump. You’re just mad you can’t afford to play the game.

The school administrators along with the school board members were part of the reason the bonds failed. The school administrators along with the board members are not providing the level of education needed for the future of our kids. Yet they continue to ask for more money they can misspend or flat out steal. Many of the students attending classes don’t want to learn. They are sent by their parents to be babysat and be disruptive to those students that do want to learn. I encourage all parents to be more active in their child’s education. Attend school board meetings. Ask questions. Ask to occasionally sit in on a class. You the parents find out the real problem and demand changes. More money will not fix the problem with our schools.

Actually prick at 3:29 pm, I am a retired principal and navy pilot. You don’t know me and that is how I like it. You do seem to have some good instincts son, based on your comments. And F bisd, my little girl went to private schools. Unleash your hate in 3,2,1

Anonymous said...

They were little girls: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 years old. They dressed them in white and brushed their long hair. The men surrounded the little girl. Have you seen the video? the pictures? All the little girls, blonde hair, white girls and POOR. The white men taking advantage of the poor white little girls.

Anonymous said...

The old men played games with the girls. They got them naked and touched their breasts to guess the names of the girls. The men covered their eyes and had fun touching all the girls. They all knew about the girls. They all went to the Island in the private planes. No respect for women. That was not a game. That is abuse.

Anonymous said...

Some of these girls were younger than 16. Just because you can do a 16 year old it doesn't mean it is right.

Finally the BISD voters got smart and voted against lining the pockets of the BISD board and their circle of friends!

Anonymous said...

This is what I know for a fact. BISD works with the bottom of the barrel students. Think Sweat Hogs. Because she was mentioned fuck Rachel Ayala and every other administrator it the teachers who deserve all the praise because they are the ones in the front line and in the trenches.

Most administrators and counselors left the classroom because they disliked working with students.

Anonymous said...

Only one (1) IDEA school from Brownsville made the list and that was atvtye junior high level.
Keep drinking the Kool aid parents
Send your kids to IDEA
They going to do great in life working for BISD graduates

Funny
If you go by percentages IDEA has a greater number of students of matamoros

Two wrongs don't make a right in any country, especially when it involves sex with children. A "real" democrat does not exist. There are no "real" Christians, Communists, or Capitalists, they just are. Like if you put "real" in front of another word, it doesn't validate it more. It's not like Velveeta's Macaroni and Cheese where they need to put "real" in front of cheese, so it can sell. JFK's issues are dated, the pressing issues Democrats face today are completely different. So, your appeal to authority is invalid, it's irrelevant. JFK also, wanted diversity, equity, and inclusion. . .Yeah like a real Democrat.

Strawman, appeal to authority, a True Scotsman. You try to hard, stop it.

Rachel Ayala has a lot of stress and it shows when she talks to people. She needs a break.

Monkey, I believe you come across as a really smart, educated gal or guy, but you will not insult me (even though you are free to do so) without an argument. Maybe you are a lawyer…. My dad was one and he was an asshole. I was a pilot and have done lots of kills. I also was shot down 3 times, 2 ejections and 1 crash landing. And I do enjoy your comments (unless someone else like Mr. Montoya is making them) but I will keep commenting here until I am blocked as all commies love to do✌🏻
