CNN reports: "A brand new report is out showing layoff announcements hit their highest level for October in over 20 years. It's painting a picture of a job market that is really hurting. U.S.-based employers announced 150,074 job cuts in October, more than any October since 2003."
Newly released data shows that U.S. employers have announced 1.1 million layoffs so far this year, which is on par with the job losses from the 2009 Great Recession, which was also triggered by a Republican president’s economic mismanagement.
October was the WORST month for layoffs since 2003.
“We’re entering new territory with these layoffs in October,” said John Challenger, the CEO of the firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas that produced the report.
“We haven’t seen mega-layoffs of the size that are being discussed now – 48,000 from UPS, potentially 30,000 from Amazon – since 2020 and before that, since the recession of 2009. When you see companies making cuts of this size, it does signal a real shift in direction.”
Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, says that 22 US states and DC are in or nearing economic recession. “Only a few industries are still adding to payrolls, mainly health care and hospitality,” Mr. Zandi said. “Construction, manufacturing, technology, finance, government and many professional services are shedding jobs.”

I see in your photo long line of cars. Maybe these people should start selling their cars to be able to purchase a few months or groceries. In this area all families have numerous cars. Start selling and quit starving as you all claim. People need to be responsible for their actions. If you have kids be able to support them. Why should the middle class be supporting lazy people refusing to work and continue having kids? Plus what is the big concern for Mexicans if you all continue to insist that poor white people and blacks receive more in benefits. SNAP along with all other social service programs need to be revisited.

Didn’t you all notice that during the food lines all around town and during the pandemic everyone was waiting for free food in Yukons, Escalades, King Ranch trucks etc. all the while on idle with A/C on?
