Minnesota residents are being killed, teargassed and arrested for filming the atrocities being committed by ICE. Protests and photography are protected by the First Amendment. It seems like the government is trying to instigate a violent reprisal to justify troop deployments. Just a huge smokescreen to make us forget that the Epstein files are still being withheld. We’ve morphed into an authoritarian regime.

A federal government is killing good citizens in the street but still we need more evidence to prove that we are under attack by our own president. How much more time do you need? How many more deaths? When will our own government protect its people? I’ve been alive for 55 years and I’ve never never never seen wild shit like this. Democrats aren’t powerless here, and that’s what makes the inaction so infuriating: they can force Inspector General investigations, launch aggressive congressional hearings and subpoenas, condition or block ICE and DHS funding, support and join civil-rights lawsuits, push state-level limits on cooperation with unconstitutional federal actions, demand court-appointed special investigators, and use every platform they have to publicly expose abuses in real time. Instead, too many are choosing caution, process, and silence while federal agencies use chemicals and deadly force against civilians, creating chaos and fear. When leaders say, “there’s nothing we can do,” what they really mean is they’re not willing to use the power they already have, and that failure isn’t neutral, it actively enables the erosion of constitutional rights.

The felon Trump should go to jail as should most of his cabinet and his advisors but it won't happen. Once the government changes hands they will find reasons not to offer up fitting punishment. They will say things like we must put it behind us, we need to heal, it will be divisive and, specifically in the felon Trump's case they will plead his age and health, and diminished mental capacity. Of course, we put people in ill health and with diminished mental capacity in prison every day but somehow that won't matter. Long ago I quit believing in equal justice for all but i thought that justice might get served out on an individual basis. I don't think that anymore either.

Now we see the so-called Pretti-Good fatalities being framed in a similar way, except this time the sitting president has released extensive video evidence countering claims that ICE agents committed murder. Meanwhile, protesters are increasingly escaping accountability for serious violence. One ICE agent lost a finger; another was nearly run over. Many more are undoubtedly suffering lasting psychological trauma.
It’s time for this blog—and its commenters—to step back and take a hard, honest look at the full picture, not just the parts that fit a preferred narrative.
