With 107th District Judge Ben Euresti retiring, his elected successor will have the onerous task to duplicate his many years of service in Cameron County. His excellent standing among the people is attested by the fact that he was repeatedly reelected without opposition to his court.
Several years ago when lawyers for a Fortune 500 company were dissatisfied with Judge Euresti's ruling on admissibility of documentary evidence, they expressed their dissatisfaction to the judge. They stated they would appeal his ruling to the appeals court in Corpus Christi.
Judge Euresti told them to go ahead, but his ruling would not be changed. Months later the appeals court sustained his ruling against the company. With their many resources and multiple lawyers the Fortune 500 company appealed their unfavorable ruling to the highest court in Texas – the Texas Supreme Court. Over one year later, the Supreme Court denied their appeal, thus sustaining Judge Euresti's original ruling.
During that same time period, a defendant with multiple criminal convictions for the same offense appealed to Judge Euresti to reduce his current prison sentence. An obviously angry judge told the defendant that his original sentence was fair, just, and merciful. He told him not to return to his court again, and if he did return, he would double his sentence.
Whether one be a plaintiff or a defendant, Judge Euresti's rulings were scholarly, fair and consistent over many years. HIs well-deserved retirement will hopefully be filled with many good years of health and success.

Why don't you ever mention the corruption in our city and county? Is it because they are all democrats? Take for example the continuous efforts and ongoing funding to improve the downtown area. Who will profit from money invested in the down town area? Who are the owners of downtown restaurants and bars? Where did these owners get the money to purchase their businesses? From Musk? So many questions but no answers. Only higher property taxes for the working man to fund this questionable and possible corrupt practice.

Modern judges now side with t he criminals and favor their release. The victims, they were victims that were looking for trouble. Time changes Montoya. List all the modern judges that have favored the criminals and those criminals are all over Brownsville doing bad things to others. Les dieron alas para hacer el mal.
From here on out a Trump endorsement is the kiss of death for any Republican candidate.

I like how Judge Chuy did an interview on the Mickey G channel and told him most people who come to him needing a defense attorney are guilty. Can you imagine being wrongly accused and this guy is the judge?? He pretends to be a family man and devout Catholic but his side chicks can tell you a different story.
Noe Garza is the right candidate to follow in his footsteps. Chuy Garcia is a joke, he can’t even contain himself in a JP court plus his ego wouldn’t fit through the door!

Judge Ben comes from a family of honor! I grew up with him at the same church where his mom was our Sunday school teacher and his dad was a deacon & elder! Ben never wavered from the expectations set forth by his grandma DOna Juanita or his parents!
Why don’t you do a story on how Chuy Garcia was off campaigning on the county dime? All his granola bar hand outs and chicken plates antics were all during work hours, why don’t you do a story on that? Jesus Chuy Garcia, the biggest waster of tax payer money, learning from his rat buddy Trevino. All us tax payers paid him to be at work as a JP serving the people and meanwhile he was out campaigning, there’s a story you should cover!
True, he was out block walking during work hours and yesterday he was at a golf tournament for San Benito schools. The sad fact is he does it and it’s all over social media, he doesn’t care.

Why are we the tax payers paying his JP salary while he is out campaigning for a bench he doesn’t deserve? Can’t you dive into that and help expose that in a story?
Montoya works for these crooks. They buy him hamburgers and beer at the downtown bars. Just like Jerry Mchale they sell out to the highest bidder!
