P.S. For the uninitiated, being a candidate means that the scrutiny is higher, not lower. In the photo above, Martha Davila – one of three candidates for the Brownsville Navigation District's Place 4 – is using the port's logo to advance her candidacy. Not good, Martha. She has also filmed herself inside the Port of Brownsville's executive building facing the port's main gate. Another no-no.
In the case of the race that Davila is in, the other two candidates – Luis Villarreal and Prisci Roca-Tipton – are also prohibited from using public property and assets for political campaigning. Or the use of the port's logo. They have so far avoided filming in the port's buildings or using the logo fpr their promotions.
Some folks, apparently, take a bit longer to get it.

I spoke to Mrs. Davila at another candidate’s event. She was selling herself as a prepared person that does her research before making decisions.
She should have researched the Texas Ethics Commisions rules.

What’s going on there is a complete mess. It’s obvious that a lot of people care more about pleasing certain individuals than actually doing their jobs right. Instead of professionalism, what you see is favoritism, politics, and people just going along with whatever keeps them comfortable.
Entire departments seem stuck in that cycle—no accountability, no real leadership, just people playing it safe and protecting their positions. That kind of environment kills initiative and rewards mediocrity.
At some point, people need to stop settling and recognize that staying in a place like that only limits their growth. There are better opportunities out there than being part of a system that clearly doesn’t value real work or real talent.

This type of behavior is everywhere. When elections come around the majority of the people running for office have all those teeth showing fake as heck smiles They all over the place shaking hands and promising this and that. And once in office most can’t be bothered with answering an email. It will never change. HONEST IS THE BEST POLICY.
I agree, Self Serving Prisci Roca Tipton got elected to BISD and profited to the point that she barely escaped the Atkinson scandal then she lost as an incumbent, let’s not forget what she did, while at BISD, she would assert her authority and remind everyone that she was in charge, and would intimidate employees, In side conversations she would claim she will kick someone’s ass if she was challenged, Martha Davila is a decent woman that doesn’t use intimidation or fear, Prisci is a confirmed psycho ..
