89 years ago, in the Basque Country, Guernica was devastated by Nazi bombing, becoming one of the first symbols of total war against civilians. What happened in 1937 was not only an attack on a town, but on democracy and human dignity.
Remembering Gernika today – as Gaza and Palestine are bombed to near destruction by the Israeli Defense Forces – is a political act: it means rejecting violence, defending peace and standing firm against authoritarianism. Europe was built so that such tragedy would never return. What happened to "Never Again?"

BOTH Republicans and Democrats are responsible for creating the monster that is Israel. Our taxes and munitions have been used for decades in the razing of Palestine. The Palestinians don’t have an army,
Air Force or Navy. The US and Israel will attack nations that don’t have nuclear weapons. Cowardly bullies. They thought Iran would capitulate once the bombing started. The aggression will stop when Iran is forced to obtain nuclear weapons. The pompous attitude of dictating regime change is typical American tyranny.
The US funds the Israeli war machine. Israel provides free healthcare to its citizens. Those funds could be used to do the same in this country. Are Israelis superior to the Americans that subsidize them? It seems like our elected leaders work for them.
I'm somewhat confused with your comments. There is no Palestinian people, for precisely the same reason that there is no Jordanian people. There are Arab people, there is an Arab language, there is an Arab culture, and a predominantly Sunni Muslim Arab religion. And, since there are no Palestinian people, a political solution based on the concept of a Palestinian state is wrong. Please do some research before making ignorant comments.
We could offer free healthcare in this nation if we could eliminate all corruption associated with the Democrats. Regarding Israel, they are the sole ally of this country. They are the only ones aiding the United States in its endeavors to dismantle the Islamic radical regime. Where are the European countries that we also financially support?
