(Ed.'s Note: It's seems like yesterday that we were blessed and welcomed Baby Marisol Isabel to our household. She was born on July in Worthington, Minn. where we lived at the time. Her late mother Mirna Isabel – a refugee from El Salvador – worked at a meat-processing plant and her father, yours truly, for a local newspaper.
Today, she is well on her way to earning a nursing degree within a year after earning her bachelor's degree in Sociology earlier this 2026. We promised her mother we'd see her through school and all of us are immensely proud of her, as we're sure her mother would be. Happy Birthday daughter, and many more.)
