FIRST STARLINK, THEN NO KINGS DAY, NOW META GAGS GINA

By Gina Hinojosa
Our Next Texas Governor

I have bad news, and this one’s a little wonky, so bear with me.

As of this morning, our campaign can’t launch a single new ad on Facebook or Instagram.
Here’s what you need to know: Every election cycle, Meta – just as it did No King's Day – blocks all new political ads for the final week of the race. That hits our campaign in two big ways.

First, we can’t launch new ads to win over voters. Whatever ads Greg Abbott already had running can keep running. But through Election Day, we can’t put out a new ad answering his attacks. We can’t respond to breaking news in this race. And we can’t adjust our message on the platforms where millions of Texans spend their time.

Second, we can’t launch new ads to raise money. Facebook and Instagram ads asking supporters to chip in are a real part of how we fund this campaign. This month alone, they’ve brought in more than 10% of our online fundraising. Now, right when every dollar matters most, that tool is mostly off the table.

That means two things have to happen this week.

We have to take our message everywhere Meta can’t stop us: streaming TV and YouTube, digital ads on news sites and apps, and TV spots in the markets where this race will be won or lost.

And we have to pay for it with grassroots donations from emails like this one, because email is now one of the most important fundraising tools we have left. Every dollar we raise this week goes straight into putting our message in front of the voters who will decide this race.

So I’m turning to you. What we raise from this email will help decide how much ground we can cover this week. Will you chip in $5 or any amount right now to help us keep our message in front of voters through Election Day?

So this rule is not new, and Gina should have known about it and planned accordingly. This rule applies to everyone equally, so what is the beef? Gina's campaign screwed up, and now cries like a baby.

Meta’s restriction on new U.S. political ads beginning October 27, 2026, is supported by its published election policy. Previously running ads can generally continue if they met the cutoff requirements, although certain edits are restricted. However, saying no new ads of any kind can run on Facebook or Instagram is too broad; the restriction applies to covered political, election and social-issue ads. The claim that Meta ads generated over 10% of Gina Hinojosa’s online fundraising is unverified, as are the campaign’s alternative advertising plans. The connection to “No King's Day” also needs clarification.

And the excuses start

Okay so ALL political ads are stopped so you are not being treated any differently from any other candidate so why are you acting like it’s personal against you? ALL campaigns are stopped not just you, your campaign is not a target, you are not special, you are being treated just the same as all other campaigns. By now most voters have their minds made up so it’s not like this policy harms any campaign. Put on your shoes and block walk and go meet people instead of crying on a blog.

I sure hope Mark didn’t contribute to your campaign as you bash him , I’m sure he contributed to your Dads. Stop whining, Ann Richard’s would be kicking your ass right now for whining. Pull up your boot straps and act like a Texan!

Just voted Abbott. I hope the other grown ups come out to vote as well. Asking for money? Why not use your accomplishments to campaign. Uh wait never mind. You’ve done nothing in life.

Abbott sells his soul to all the PACs, billionaires and corporations that fund his campaign. His fiduciary duties will be towards them, not the taxpayers.
