By Dr. Laura E. Cisneros

FIGHTING FOR BROWNSVILLE’S FUTURE

As Your State Representative for Texas HD-38, I Will…

 1. STRENGTHEN EDUCATION Fight for better educational opportunities for our children, support students with learning disabilities, including dyscalculia, and expand vocational training and dual-enrollment opportunities to prepare students for successful careers.

 2. IMPROVE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE Work to improve access to affordable healthcare, support community clinics, and address the healthcare needs of families, seniors, and underserved residents.

3. FIGHT FOR FAIR PROPERTY TAXES Work toward meaningful property-tax reform, greater transparency, and fairer treatment of property owners facing rising appraisals, penalties, and interest on delinquent taxes.

 4. ADDRESS ROADS AND DRAINAGE Push for improvements to roads, highways, and drainage infrastructure to reduce flooding, improve safety, and address long-standing problems affecting Brownsville neighborhoods.

5. CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR JOBS AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT Promote career and technical education, apprenticeships, and workforce training that prepare our young people for good-paying jobs connected to the Port of Brownsville, industry, and emerging economic opportunities. And for those who want to retrain in various fields.

 6. PROTECT CHILDREN, PARENTAL RIGHTS, AND PUBLIC SAFETY Stand with law enforcement and first responders, protect children from harmful influences, defend parents’ rights to participate in decisions affecting their children, and support policies that keep our schools and communities safe.

Brownsville deserves leadership focused on real issues and real solutions. I will bring my experience as a physician, my commitment to public service, and my determination to fight for the people of House District 38.

Thank you for your consideration.

 Sincerely, Dr. Laura E. Cisneros
