AN EARLY WARNING SIGN IN LAND-'O-LAKES NEIGHBORHOOD?

(Ed.'s Note: We've all heard after a mass shooting about the "warning signs" that were there before the perpetrator committed a carnage.

Well, one of our seven readers sent us what he believes is one of those signs. It is in an alley way on a wall behind 128 Creekbend, in one of the city's better subdivisions. The residents of the house probably don't even know it's there, as far as anyone knows. But it's been there for a while, or perhaps a resident there wants it to stay.

Our faithful reader told us he has reported the existence of the offensive graffiti to the Brownsville Police Department, who brushed it off as a prank. It is interesting to note that the home of former City Manager Charlie Cabler is just a few houses left at the end of this alley. Before he was city manager, Cabler was a cop and later a police commander.

Oh, well, now everybody knows.)

A many of the resident on that street have been subject of stories on this blog. Just check it out in the cameron county CAD. From political offspring, to elected officials, foreign trip takers courtesy of Tony Martinez and current, fornwe county/ city employees. As they say birds of a feather, flock together!!

No doubt someone on the block knows the spoiled brat who wrote this. "Gonna" is not a word...and that plus the printing is probably recognized by someone. This city has a lot of punk kids who not only can't spell or use grammar correctly, but they make stupid threats on fences and then run away...probably to a home on that block. Let's hope they are caught and charged with making a terrorist threat.

There's very few kids/ teens on our street. Although plenty of privileged (spoiled) grand kids that come over including ours.

Haters of graffiti? Jes!

Exactly. Bullshit that homeowner doesn't know. Look at his trimmed grass. Obviously someone cuts the lawn and they've seen that message! Fine their ass!

Everything is a harmless prank, right up until it is not!

What is wrong with BPD? Are they waiting until a fellow officer actually gets shot to follow up on warning "signs". God forbid this should happen to any officer but, you never know or predict what might actually happen. In this crazy world of ours nowadays, anything is possible. Lets say something happens and the perpetrator turns out to live in this house, what then! If it were my house i would have painted over this right away. How much of a warning sign does BPD need before they act and a tragedy befalls an officer who just happens to be somebody's son, brother, husband or father. According to the article the address is "128 Creekbend" where the sign is. Nice neighborhood but, there's mentally unstable people everywhere. To BPD, stay safe and watch for warning signs, somebody doesn't like you out there. God Bless.

I have always wonder how such talented artists can hide and not get caught as they paint
their decorative attractions on someone else's property. Where is the police during this time, especially in the middle of the expressway, El Jardin Hotel, on walls all over the city. Also, were are the "concerned citizens" who ignore the culprits. They have time to be on their cell phones all the time but will not dare hang up on a conversation to call 911 when they witness distruction in progress. Anyway, by the time the dispatcher finishes with all the questioning, the artist will be finished with his work and police will show up "despues de atole." The expressway pillars around Lincoln Park are always graffittified and no one calls and if they do, no one responds. The same goes with dumping trash.

Thank You Juan, (El Runn Runn). You just may have prevented a tragedy waiting to happen. Because of your post, the fence and terroristic sign has been covered with paint. You saved law enforcement lifes. They owe much gratitude to you. As professionals in this neighborhood, we are happy the sign is gone. Thank You again Juan! To all law enforcement personnel, Be Safe, Happy Holidays.

Mr. Montoya, lots of thanks to your blog. I had never read your blog before. I was told by your readers that you had a say through your blog in covering the terroristic sign in our neighborhood. It had been there for months and nobody seem to care one way or another. Now it's gone and the neighborhood is happy! Along the way, you just may have saved everybody a horrific tragedy and an officers (BPD'S) life. Thank you for the coverage. I live on Creekbend and will start covering your blog along with our neighbors. Thank You Sir!
