FOR LONELY DADS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

NAMESAKE

By Juan Montoya

And I won't be there

when disconsolate

you'll cry

Because

you pinched your hand

or

when playing ball

got hit, hurt

or things don't go so well

Or to exult with you in victory

or soothe the agony of your defeats

While others turn and find someone

to share with them their joys

or pains

you'll be alone

I will be gone

Arrows that soar

from miles away

unseeing, find me

In sleep, I dream

of shielding you from all

Instead, I lie awake

and feel you from afar.

What is this bullshit?! Get back on the Beat, Juan! Poetry? Por favor. Se esta pudriendo el mundo y tu con poemas. Que pinche lastima.

Another great thought, The kids are grown but both came home for Thanksgiving but returned to their homes for Christmas.
I am so thankful and proud that they are fine responsible young folks; but still sad when they leave....

...have felt that, too ...and sometimes accept it, sometimes wonder ....

A wonderful piece, and like so much, it comes after, ever after .... To feel that in the now, the moment .... Difficult, easy to lose in the anger, self ....

Thanks, for the dagger (and arrows) ....

Consider reading aloud at the Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center Writers Forum, and at Savory Perks, and at the Valley International Poetry Festival, you, JM, of more than words carelessly tossed ....

Do we know who is running?

Isn't Edna Tamoyo running again this yr.

Where is Joe Rob?

No, Edna is not running for Pct. 4 this year. I understand two candidates have filed for the position. Do you mean Joe Rod? Rodriguez is going to fight to extend his contract until June. Apparently, he doesn't think we've had enough.
