Word has reached us from the second floor of the Cameron County Judiciary wing that the filming of a political commercial extolling the virtues of District Attorney Armando Villalobos and asking local voters to cast their ballot on his behalf for the Democratic Party primary nomination for the new U.S.Congress District 34 took place today.
Even though he has hedged at his intentions to run for the office in order not to give up his position as DA before the year is up, the presence of the camera crew and his performance in mouthing the script for the congressional race piece belies the fact that he fully intends to run for the office once the boundaries are set.
And, taking a page from the reality shows, sources indicate that he encouraged some employees in the office to make their cameos in the footage, an offer that some staffers couldn't refuse.
"What do you tell your boss if he asks you to appear on camera in his commercial?" asked an anonymous staffer at the DA's office. "It's a lose-lose situation."
Villalobos, one of the best coiffed and manicured local politicians rivaling Cameron County County Clerk Joe Rivera's claim of being the "best looking public official in South Texas," apparently knows that filming political commercials for your patry's nomination in public buildings is a no-no, but that apparently didn't stop him. Additionally, the filming took place during the workday, when employees had to be at their stations, giving, we surmise, the commercial a look of authenticity.
"I wish someone would file complaint against that type of activity," said a court employee. "That office should not be used to stage political commercials for anyone, especially during working hours when office workers have to stay at their stations. This is unheard of. Is anyone going to do anything about this?"

it is no doubt in peoples mind and las ploitquera i know who have told me personnaly that armando villalobos will be running for the new congress seat so how come he does not resign from the da position since he has more than a year left in his current seat opps,can pay the bills when you are unemployed, y la ford girl tambien hey she running for da, she cant be running and workign at te da's office at the same time, what the hell is goining on here people? judge cascos, county commissioners what the hell? taxpayers money going down the comode
mr montoya, check out the aclu website regarding a Velez case that was reviewed yesterday and in the report there was gross negliance by a special prosecutor namet luis saenz and ruling is to get a new trial for this man. goes to show you the poor work done at the cameron county da's office
We must wonder if Villalobos' close political friends Able Limas and Auroroa de la Garza are in that production. Does Villalobos really think that the public has forgotten his alliance with these two Dumbokrats who scheme or have schemed to fill their own pockets and hire all their family members. Villalobos is the consumate Dumbokrat from Cameron County which operates based on the local ideals of "corruption, compadrismo, conspiracy" and has no place in Washington. His uses politics because he is incompetent to earn a living as an attorney. We have too many like him in Congress already.

Mandito shot the commercial during business hours, why wasn't he in court prosecuting cases? Mandito won't leave the office because he wants to put that De Ford chick in charge. Mandito would look bad if he doesn't put Mr. Mattingly since he is the number two guy. Ms. De Ford is not doing any work in the office right now, she has been campaigning. Mandito hasn't made her leave the office yet. Which is the other reason that Mandito hasn't left. Since Ms. De Ford already announced and supposed to leave, Mandito still has that dead weight hanging around. Anyway, he might have wasted the money on that commercial. Read the paper, the wire taps went on since 2007. I am sure that Mandiot talked a lot with Limas on the phone since he was giving and returning favors on criminal cases that have lead back to Limas and via Ms. De La Garza's office.
Why do u hav the need to get SPECIAL PROSECUTOR to prosecute your cases? Aren't you competent to prosecute them yourself? Obviously you are not you don't even give a chance to your own ADA. PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH!!! about you and THAT SPECIAL PROSECUTOR. This is certaintly a matter that the FBI or Judiciary Committee need to get involve.

Proof in the newspaper that Mr. Villalobos is not concerned with what is going on in his office. There is a trial going on in the 357th District Court and Ms. Bailey is trying the case? Where is Maria de Ford? Are you campaigning when you should be working? Or is your excuse that you are letting Ms. Bailey get her feet wet? Ms. Bailey has been getting her feet wet long before you decided to run for DA. This is only proof that Ms. De Ford feels that her campaign comes first before her job? Ms. De Ford, you need to leave the office. Mr. Villalobos, you need to make up your mind whether you are going to run your office like it should be run or get the hell out! Saenz for DA since he is doing all the work in that office.
