Troiani, a former city commissioner who served Brownsville from 2007-2011, said a change was needed from the "business as usual" mentality.
"My focus is to create jobs, improve South Texas infrastructure, port capacity, energy production and educational opportunities while protecting those who have served and continue to serve our nation," Troiani said.
"You are invited to join me at Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. to watch the President's State of the Union Address. I will be analyzing and giving my perspective of the President's Address," Troiani said. "I am a strong Democrat, who believes in economic development such as increased international trade zones and infrastructure development projects like the I-69 corridor."
Troiani said he believes in the need for a strong government to bring economic attention to America’s small businesses and America’s working class. "We need to support America’s troops by guaranteeing them the benefits they earned by putting their lives on the line when they joined the military," said Troiani, a former Marine who served in Iraq. "I stand ready to fight for South Texas in Washington, D.C. with a proven record of defeating attacks on South Texas.
"Thank you for your support and I look forward to meeting and talking with you on Tuesday."

Troiani seems to believe that we can't watch Obama's speech and think for ourselves....he seems to think we need him to explain ('splain) it for us. Like other local Dumbokrats....he treats us as ignorants; unable to think for ourselves. Of course, he has his forum at a local watering hole known for its noise. Troiani, like Rene Oliviera and his parties, or Begum and her "socialite" ventures, et al; seems to place himself a step above the rest of us in intelligence. Hell, he is a Marine.....don't need a brain to be a Marine. And he is a lawyer and we know from experience that lawyers with brains don't run for political office. Lawyers with brains make money.

Or we can get Armando "Abel Limas is my BFF" Villbaboso, or the reincarnation of Solomon Ortiz in Denise "I am now Saenz" Blanchard or you can get a Trojan horse in Ramiro Garza who's financed by Hidalgo interests to screw Cameron County. Tough choices.
