Every parent's worst nightmare is to come home and find their beloved child dead. Every child's worst nightmare is to not have their mommy or daddy there anymore to hug and love. The incomprehensible and horrible became reality for us this weekend. George Champion, a handsome, strapping 26 year-young man with a promising future was called back to Our Lord's arms on Thursday p.m. He had been complaining of stomach pains and was pale. Some days before he had tried to help out a victim of a beating in a local eatery and instead became a victim himself when the aggressor called over SIX of his friends to beat up on George. We do not know if his shockingly untimely death was due to this unfair and unprovoked beating or if he was misdiagnosed by a Brownsville dr. but he is gone. I have been given permission by his mother and brother to post this and accept donations as they need "all the help they can get". These ppl are nothing but "puro corazon" and I remember one year when they brought a homeless guy home so he wouldn't be out on the cold streets for Thanksgiving. They let him wash up, got him clean clothes and let him stay for a while cuz it was unthinkable for her to see someone suffering like that especially at Thanksgiving. She is suffering now and we would appreciate your help. We are sorry that we need to ask for help at all but even going the most inexpensive route is still expensive. We thank you from the bottom of our broken and shattered hearts. - The family and friends of George Champion. Please IM Pat Hansen or contact the Delta Funeral home for more information. (Thank you, sincerely.)
