Well, we finally made the big time.This time it's bigger than the satanic murders, the Dora Cisneros midwife for-hire killing, the coming (or not) of SpaceX, the occasional hurricane, the mass killings across the border by warring drug cartels, etc...
Now, brought by an indicted Cameron County District Attorney near you, our little corner of the world has now gained notoriety thanks to Armando Villalobos and Anderson Cooper 360. The program, which aired on Friday, told the world how Villalobos reportedly gained "blood money" as a result of his acquiescence to release murderer Amit Livingston after he had accepted a conviction in the courtroom of infamous disgraced former 404th District Judge Abel Limas.
The federal indictment alleges that Villalobos and his former law partner Eddie Lucio received $200,000 from a $500,000 cash bond from a parallel civil lawsuit brought by the family of the victim, a school teacher who had been having an affair with Livingston. When she tried to break off the affair and insulted Livingston's manhood, he killed her and buried her body in the sand dunes in a desolate part of South Padre Island.
He accepeted a plea bargain that would have put him in jail for 23 years.
Even after that, Limas granted the killer 60 days to "get his affairs in order" before serving his lengthy jail sentence.
Villalobos concurred with the defense motion for the release and then – according to the federal indictment – received two payments of $40,000 from Lucio in return.
Now that Cameron County is on the map, we hear that the Cameron County commissioners court will revisit the idea of asking Villalobos to step down from his position as county district attorney when they meet this Tuesday to address the public black eye we are getting across the county and the world.

This CNN item surely doesn't embarrass Armando villalobos, just highlights the judicial misconduct and judicial corruption in Cameron County, and South Texas. I don't think any of the players in our corruption are embarrassed...its just part of the culture here. Really sad to have this kind of national publicity...but the voters here are content electing corrupt officials...so we earn this news hit.

I stand to correct you on that one! Mr. Mattingly did object vehemently and Armando Villalobos told him to stay out of it. I can assure you that Mr. Mattingly has done everything in his power to have Livingston found and brought back to face his sentence. Unfortunately, Washington will not help in asking India to have him picked up by Interpol, so he can face justice? Word!

You tell me if this is good lawyering or a P.O.S. Da's office. A family member of mine has lived in an out of jail over drugs, theft, etc. Three felony charges pending and a misdemeanor. $4500 and all charges were dropped! This is a habitual criminal that has spend years in jail and prison! Went to a certain attorney and he guaranteed results.
