Heartless, vidictive, and liar? You must work for the BISD. From a taxpayer perspective, she's just what the BISD needs. I'm glad she's giving your folks a hard time. You've gone unchecked for decades. It's about time someone realized this isn't "free" money you're racking up in useless contracts, inventory, and overtime. It's our money. And we're tired of throwing it away.

Should, God forbid, she get back in, watch the heads roll...don't kid yourself, she is already taking names. She's continue her personal agenda with ruthless vengence. VOTE HER OUT!!! And for those of you who say you are voting for her, you must be drinking the kool-aid.
What you call "Kool-Aid", I call facts. None of you have provided any reason to vote her out except to insult her or her supporters personally. You say she's vindictive. How so? You call her a liar. Why? Self-serving? Enlighten me.
Fact - she hand-picked BISD forensic auditors Defenbaugh who WORKED FOR HER on the Joe Rod case against her. There is an invoice from Defenbaugh addressed TO HER AT HER HOME ADDRESS in the Land of Lakes area and she said she didn't know anything about Defenbaugh???? That is a fact and if need be, I can produce it for you and prove that she lied about her relationship with this firm. That's just one example for you...there are a boat load of others that are backed up by documentation and facts.
Post 2:35pm do you not remember how she drove one Superintendent out of town. Have you not watched her belittle people at the meetings? She lies about who she works for because she does not work! Just ask her and call her employer and they will confirm no one by the name of Catalina Presas-Garcia or Cata Presas-Garcia or Caty Presas-Garcia works for them. She has been terminated from several jobs due to her lies. Just ask her where she worked before and do your own reseach. You ask to be enlightened? You must not be from Brownsville.
"From a taxpayers needs" She voted to dismiss the HealthSmart Lawsuit that competent lawyers offered to litigate at no cost to the district. One of her biggest election contributers was the owner of HealthSmart. Do you see a picture developing? By the way the majority board members also received large contributions from HealthSmart. She voted to hire Gonzales after the Texas Education Agency, through an administrative hearing upheld the districts firing him for multiple reasons, even criminal acts. Someone already spoke to her relationship with Defenbaugh, who on her direction carried the scope of the audit into areas not approved by the board. His report is tainted to her vindictiveness and has caused at least one lawsuit that the district must defend, possibly others to follow. How do these acts save the taxpayer? I won't even go into personal behavior because volumns could be written. Let me say7 all the negativism against her is well deserved. You would think that someone so disliked would step down to save face. She will be voted out.
I've mentioned before that questioning her integrity in choosing the BISD forensic auditors is a legitimate complaint. There are avenues we can take to address that and the people and other board members have. What you CAN'T question are the RESULTS of the audit. The audit showed the corruption all over the district. We the people have her to thank for finally exposing what we already knew. Quite frankly, I don't care what relationship she had with this company prior to the audit. The fact is the auditors did an outstanding job exposing these sycophants, especially in the transportation department, for what they really are. And yes, she's driven people out of town because they don't like her questions. Unfortunately for them, she continues to ask the right ones.
Rick give it up with Healthsmart, you yourself dont know why you sued them. Why didnt Mike Saldana follow thru if you had a strong case against them? it was a frivolous lawsuit at the taxpayers expense another one of your scams.
It is my understanding the HealthSmart lawsuit should have never been filed in the first place. Wasn't the BISD suing for savings they never got? Stuff like this is impossible to prove and even if this was going to be litigated for free, it was a waste of time to begin with. I question the motives of this law firm as the facts are clear. This would have been a loss in court for the district. What was the law firm getting in return, I wonder? Who did they know that wanted to hurt this company? I think we all know lawyers don’t work for free – even the kind ones.
I don’t see how you claim the BISD audit is tainted. Regardless of where the auditors went, no one has disputed what they found. You said it yourself. Their only defense so far has been that auditors looked at processes the board had not approved. The fact is, any professional auditor would have done the same thing if while investigating one problem, they found another. It’s how audits work. Often times, an auditor doesn’t know what they’re looking for. And if they find an issue, they’re expected to go down that rabbit hole and investigate it. BISD employees are just upset they got caught stealing from the taxpayers.
I don’t think, not by a long shot, Presas-Garcia does not have an agenda. I don’t think for one second she is not self-serving. You may want to sit down for what I’m about to tell you will shock you; none of them are in it for us. They’re all in it for themselves. My point is, that in the process of benefitting herself, Presas-Garcia has also benefitted us…well, most of us. She certainly has not benefitted the employees of BISD who have been reaping the benefits of managers looking the other way for years while they depredated the district. As an example, Chirinos, who ran the transportation department to the ground, in the process of benefitting himself and his cronies, also cost us over a million dollars in unjustified overtime.
