THIS IS WHAT BEDC, CAMERON COUNTY, TEXAS ARE UP AGAINST

(Despite the heroic blunderings and missteps taken by the State of Texas, Cameron County, the City of Brownsville, and the BEDC, it's hard to imagine that SpaceX can turn down the structured, aggressive approach that the State of Florida has undertaken to compete for the firm to go there to launch its commercial satellites. South Texas has already been beaten out in the bidding war, and the scientific difficulties in launching from Boca Chica Beach with its fragile ecology and endangered plant and animal species make it difficult to imagine it will end up here. Below is the Florida approach to attracting space-related industry. Compare it to ours.)

From Space Florida

Looking at this, we can assume that Boca Chica is not competitive beccause....the region is poor and lacks the investment potential, the region has few associative business to support SpaceX and the workfoce here is not trained to support the space industry. It looks like we lose for the same reasons we have always lost businesses here. Add to that that the fact that our schools don't produce a workforce that is literate, skilled or have any critical thinking skills and we may suffer another loss in attracting new businesses and industry. We wonder why we can't go forward....its clearly because we refuse to exert "tough love" to educate our children and those with money refuse to invest in progress. We have an "entitlement" attitude and are waiting for the government or someone else to give us something.

Real estate in the Boca Chica area has already been deeded to Space-X, if not for a launch site and a tracking site. It was deeded by the "the goverment". Which goverment entity I am not certain . I am not making this up.

on the contrary. boca chica offers less population, more isolation and less regulation than florida.
