IN DISTRICT 2, JESS IS ALL WET, NO LACK OF WATER

For the better part of 12 hours, the Brownsville Public Utility Board announced that huge swaths of District 2 were without water.

For example, all of Rio del Sol, Heron Cove, Resaca Grande, Highway 48, Padre Island Highway, Rivera High School and the surrounding neighborhoods , Wal Mart off 802, Whataburger, FM 802, and large parts of northeast Brownsville.

For many hours, residents here had no water to cook, to bathe or to water their lawns. For those who drink PUB water (a small minority we're sure) this was sure to be an inconvenience.

Knowing that District 2 commissioner Jessica Tetreau-Kalifa considers herself a bellweather for the needs of her constituents, we quickly went to FaceBook to see whether Jess – who says she is there to service the needs of the District 2 electorate – had logged into voice her complaints against the PUB.

She did that last time she was to appear at a basketball camp with the Spurs' Danny Green about a week ago and found that PUB was suffering a power outage and could not dry her hair to be presentable at the celebrity show. (That's Jess,  la greñuda in the picture.)
At the time she said she was disgusted with PUB and complained that she could not subscribe to another utility since she lived right behind the PUB headquarters.
Well, with water unavailable for more than 12 hours and many businesses in her district losing money, families unable to shower or cook, we were astounded that there was no FaceBook diatribe from the precocious Miss against Bad Ol' PUB expressing her disgust.
Maybe since her house had all the utilities working she could care less what the constituents in her district were putting up with. Well, as long as Jess looks good and is comfortable, let them drink Coke.
As an aside, PUB did an excellent job recording and leaving a voice message of all the affected areas and restoring the water ASAP.
Some of our neighbors had to go to relatives' houses to take a shower. Tetreau, apparently, was all wet. We're just glad there were no celebrities in town because Jessica would surely flip.
