Monday was the last day for Texas residents could register to vote in the
March 4 primaries, and local watchdog groups Citizens Against Voter
Abuse (CAVA) and IntelliVote are getting ready to push for a concerted
effort with local officials to prevent voting fraud through education.
Texas
law requires voters to register 30 days before Election Day and this
year that means that the cutoff date is Monday, Feb. 3.
The 30-day deadline also applies to registration updates such as address changes.
Eligible voters may also apply in person at the Cameron County Elections Office at 954 E. Harrison St. in Brownsville.
This year, early voting begins Feb. 18 and continues through Feb. 28. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Feb. 21.
To be eligible to vote in Texas, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the county, be at least 18 years old, not a convicted felon unless your sentence is completed including probation or parole, and not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law.
The
push by CAVA to alert local voters on how to prevent those would steal
their votes will include a voter education initiative to be held today. CAVA and IntelliVote will collaborate with the Cameron

No matter what "great" plans are set up for voting, the Dumbokrats will find a way to corrupt the system to their advantage. Let's hope those who want a "real" democracy will prevail, but I am afraid that Cameron County "demands corruption".
