HERNANDEZES SUDDENLY REMEMBER HOMELESS RELATIVES

By Juan Montoya
If you found out that your mother's second cousin, which makes you a very distant relative, was killed in a horrendous accident while he was homeless and sitting on a bus stop bench, would you call a press conference to elicit sympathy?
It's a safe bet that the average person would not. It is also a safe bet that most people would show their respect by allowing family members to grieve in private.
Not so a certain Justice of the Peace named Erin Hernandez Garcia who is running for reelection in this year's primary.
She saw the opportunity for media coverage, dialed her pals at Channel 4, and held a press conference at her office where she explained that her relative –   49 year old Ricardo Briones – was homeless "by choice" even though she claimed her family had offered him a place to stay but he had refused.
This is so out of character for this bunch. After all, it was during the Raul Salazar trial that Roberto Cadriel – her mother Norma's brother and Pct. 2 commissioner Ernie Hernandez's brother-in-law – and also Erin's uncle, who told the court that he had been living in his truck parked at the family business on Paredes Line Road.
This is not her mother's cousin. This is her brother. Isn't it incongruous that they would offer her mother's cousin a place to stay but not to her brother?
In fact, when Cameron County District Attorney Luis Saenz was eventually able to track down Cadriel's whereabouts so he could give testimony on how he – a convicted felon who could neither read nor write and was assisted by a Human Resources staffer to pass the Civil Service exam after failing it twice and then was given the answers to the written exam – Cadriel was living out of the county in a homeless shelter.
Even after he came to Brownsville to testify in the trial, he was also housed in a shelter for the homeless in west Brownsville.
Bouncing from job to job, Cadriel at one time was living under an overpass while his sentimental partner sold food plates on 14th Street to help the couple make ends meet.
"La familia tiene casas y dinero pero no le ayudan," she said.
Later, in the eight-cont indictment handed by a grand jury against Hernandez, it is alleged that the Hernandezes gave Cadriel money to leave town and not to cooperate with DA and sheriff department investigators looking into the role of the commissioner and his wife in the illegal hiring.
Norma at once cried foul over the indictments and – like her daughter Erin – blamed it as a political witch hunt. She posted in a FB page that Roberto Cadriel had "been used as a prop." She also charges that Saenz has used county money to retaliate against her family "for political reasons."
Briones' death, she says, amplifies the need for outreach programs for our less fortunate."
Really, Norma?
Why didn't the family "outreach" to Briones or your own brother Roberto and provide them a decent place to have shelter?

Her allegations against the DA are like the "pot calling the kettle black". So, she is now concerned about how tax dollars are spent. What a hypocrite! The DA uses tax dollars to investigate all criminals....so why is the Hernandez Klan trying to turn the tables. They are crooks and have used tax dollars to fill their pockets. The use of media is important to the Hernandez Klan and so Erin, like her dad are crying tears to the media, and have hired Blaylock as their attorney and media coordinator to cry on the public's shoulder. What a bunch of scumbags.

In all my years I have never ever seen politicians that have to compassion for the dead and that would use a tragedy to get an article written about them. Poor man is dead and the Hernandez are spitting on his grave.

Think about it. Them man was homeless, didn't have food nor shelter yet Erin Hernandez looks at the dead man drivers license... remembers his name sometime in the distance and her evil mind starts to think...hmmmm I could turn this into a sympathy vote. Quick call Channel 4 news and tell them I have an exclusive story. Does anybody have pepper spray Yes I do..Quick spray me because I need to show the camera I am mourning and I care about this dead man whom I never met or much less helped or would help.

This story need to be about me and how much stress I have to endure as a JP. NO other JP has ever done what I do and will never do.

She didn't even recognize his face but remembered she was her moms distant cousin. Norma God has a place for people like you and Erin and it isn't in Heaven.

The Hernandez are the worst heartless human beings I have ever met.

For everyone's edification, the late Mr. Briones would have been Erin's third cousin, once removed.

And papa Ernie did teh same thing when his Uncle, former Mayoe Emilio Hernandez passed away. Emilio and Ernie did not like or respect each other, yet Ernie went to the media as the family representative to mourn his uncle, Emilio's passing. Mayor Emilio Hernandez would have nothing to do with Ernie or his family because he knew Ernie was a crook!

I don't know about this gentleman but some relatives have problems and have burned familial bridges too many times. Who knows what the circumstances were?
I've got relatives I wouldn't let in my house unless I could nail everything down....I think we all do.
Exploiting the circumstance is equally as bad as the event itself.

Now I see why Erin is such an idiot! She learned from her mother, Norma Hernandez. This women is a bigger idiot for posting on FB that this is a political vendetta? Norma, as for your dysfunctional brothers, that's your fault for not helping them when they needed you. It was not the system, it was you and your family. Its that your hubby, Ernie is too busy pocketing his money and not allowing you to spend it on them but you knew that. You spent a lot of that money on yourself too. You both should have saved it by not sending your idiot daughter to college to be a lawyer. She's proven that she is not a lawyer!

They offered him a place to stay. The handicapped parking spot at their family business. But only after hours.
