The ;political campaigns were out in force this weekend and as we passed by the :Lacks's Furniture Store on FM 802, we stopped and took this photo of JP 2-2 candidate Yolanda Begum who was visiting the Alex Dominguez hot dog giveaway that afternoon. Dominguez is a candidate for Cameron County Commissioner Pct. 2.
On Saturday we heard bout the pachanga for Dominguez, Cameron County Clerk Joe Rivera and County Court-at-Law Judge Arturo McDonald. Rivera is running for county judge and McDonald, the incumbent, is running for reelection.
Doubtless, there were many more political gatherings across the county for the different political candidates on the Democratic and Republican ballots.
The weather has improved as of late and with the warming up after Tuesday, there will be plenty more gatherings of the different candidates for voters to attend. Early voting starts on eight days on Feb. 18 when the campaigns switch into high gear until Feb. 28. The primary voting will be held March 4.
Many candidates are finding out that it's no cakewalk to manage a campaign or win an election. They need the support of the voters. Support your candidates and attend some of their functions.

Thats so true @12:01 pm^ politicians are like that yes I saw her to she gave a card to my mother one of hers and one of mr. leonel lopez and now shes here with mr. dominguez wow well Im not surprise shes in it to win it shes trying to be with every candidate. Shes playin it smart ass. Cause look what happen to Erin and Ernie they were goin for mazzo and mr. Saenz won so know mr. saenz is doin everything in his hands to get them out.. The best thing is to run your own raise and not others..simple as that..
