VILLALOBOS TO START SERVING 13-YEAR SENTENCE NOW

BROWNSVILLE – Federal Judge Andrew Hanen has sentenced former Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos to 13-years in federal prison.
Villalobos was convicted on seven counts including charges of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, and aiding and abetting extortion back in May 2013.
Prosecutors stated Villalobos was a manager in the ‘cash for favors’ scheme not a minor participant.
In assessing his sentence, Hanan said ‘justice cannot be for sale’.
Villalobos was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison followed by 3 years probation.

It's posted that"They said letters were submitted on Villalobos' behalf, that he has two children, large and supportive family, and that he is commited and has a bond with his family.

So did Joe Lopez that didn't keep him out of jail! Villalobos I wish you the best.

Well Joe Lopez did too but villal wasn't

When is Aurora next? Didn't she have her son Joey "The Crook" conviction deferred and worked out the details in chambers with Judge Limas?

What is this "cash for favors" bullshit. These people completely perverted the entire justice system. It was not a question of "favors" like some cheap bribe to look the other way. We are not talking about a common criminal, we are looking at destroying the foundations of the country. He did not rob a 7-11. He should have received 20 years.

I know that Villalobos did wrong -very wrong. But I really feel bad for his little daughter. Man -poor little girl. Really, no one wins. Sin consumes us all - "se le hiso fasil" and he got caught; bottom line. I'm pretty sure that if he would have said from the very beginning "Judge/FBI, Yes Sir - I am guilty and did very wrong and I am willing to tell you everything that I know" I'm sure that he would have gotten only 2-4 years. But no, he wanted to out-smart the FBI. Sure!!! These guys have brought down big-time individuals like the NY Mafia - please!!! The valley is an easy nut to crack. Piece of cake!! With all his experience and knowledge how can he not of thought of this. WOW!! My prayers for his daughter - may she find strength and for her to know that her father made a mistake, but it sure is not the end of the world.

Villalobos should have gotten more time in jail. Hopefully this conviction and sentencing will revoke his license to practice law. His actions as an elected law enforcement officer should have gotten him more time than Rosenthal (20 years). But, as we know here in Cameron County, the voters demand corruption.

Why is the Brownsville Herald using an Associated Press article on the sentencing of Villalobos? Doesn't the Herald have reporters? Didn't they have a reporter in the court room? The Herald is really bad when they use AP stories for local events.

13 years for putting the innocent in prison and letting drug dealers/ murderers go.

yeah sure the rest of the attorneys are going to learn their lessons..jajajajajaja

any other would get 2 3 life in prison terms.

got a good deal

That's harsh but well deserved. It's good to see a white collar criminal get time instead of a slap on the wrist.

Hanen's wife accepts thousands of dollars in fees from the city of Brownsville; but yet the good judge has NOT recused himself from ruling on matters related to the city. One prominent example is that Tony Soprano Martinez (da Mayuh) got great rulings from Judge Limas. Result? No indictment.

Hanen should be called "Haying" for making hay while the sun shines.

So Mando cried in front of the Anglo judge? Stupid Mexican!

What now...does he get Dis-barred now from the State Bar???? What upsets me is that I had a trip to the courthouse back in January when...guess what? I saw this Dirt Bag in his suit freely going in and out of the courts representing clients...how sad to see that our justice system sucks and continues to allow this SOB to practice law as a convicted felon! Where does this stop??? I hope now that this F__ker is gone for 13 long f__ken years his law license is voided for ever? But guess what? He will soon become a Jail House Lawyer...maybe for BUBBA to save his ass! Know what I mean!!!!!! So long asshold Amando...carma paid off!!!! Give my regards to Limas, Solis and the other f__ker from Austin RosenF__k. Afew more should be following soon...I hope?

Juan, i believe that the 13 years was too little, he did let a murder go, plus other things, bribes, scams, etc. i really think 20 years would have been more appropriate for him just like Rosenthal.

Anonymous said...

He missed an enhancement over the David Sanchez bribe. When are the rest that were bribed going to get tried, or at the very least indicted?

Former county employee said...

To Luis Saenz, there is still one person who admitted on the stand that he stole money from his clients after getting the money from his buddy, Armando Villalobos, Oscar De La Fuente. He negotiated a deal with his ex-AUSA attorney and good friend in Michael Wynn, no other than Eddie Medrano. He admitted to not returning money to two of his clients and well over $200K. Oscar De La Fuente is a bigger crook than the others who have pled and found guilty. He deserves to be Indicted, sued by the families and disbarred!

Former law enforcement officer said...

In that pic is that biggest mamon, Joe Lopez who kissed Armando Villalobos' ass on a daily basis. Mando wanted a kiss-ass for a Chief Investigator and got it with Joe. Joe should have been brought into the spotlight for he had to have known about some of the indiscretions within the office by Mando, Michelle Garcia, Maria De Ford and Monica Gonzalez. Why he's still with the district attorney office is beyond me and others?

Anonymous said...

My question is: who watches Federal Judges? We do have crooked federal judges and prosecutors too.

Anonymous said...

Why should the judge have pity on Mando because he has a family. It was Mando who made bad choices...and he should have thought of his family while committing these crimes and for abusing his judicial power to fill his own pockets and those of his "budz"....most of whom are also now in jail. However, there are others who should be investigated...Aurora de la Garza, Omar Lucio; just as Erin Garcia and her "popi" are being investigated now.

What about the District Clerk? She fixing the cases so that they could end up in Limas court, the organized Soprano Family, bola de putitos.

he should be in jail for the rest of his life for what he was doing.
he is fucken ass hole...

I am sure, some of his buddies are already looking for love, lol, anon, keeping the bed warm is an understatement.

The fbi are a bunch of crooks themselves, but it can be almost impossible to prove that.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, and while that's happening your wife is getting boned by a bunch of guys she met on craigs list.

Anonymous said...

They should of given him and all the rest at least 25 years for what they did. It just makes me feel great that they were caught and sent to jail. He cried like a little girl, and no I do not feel sorry for his daughter or his family he should of thought of them first before committing his crimes. He is just f____ing rat.

Anonymous said...

This greedy thief wants the public to have sympathy for his family, really? Joe Lopez also has a family that love and miss him very much but unlike you he also has fans that also love him!

THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!
JESUS LOVES YOU JOE AND SO DO I♡♡
It's almost over Joe, you will be home soon.

Mr. V. is a nice man.I wish him and his family well.

"Why is the Brownsville Herald using an Associated Press article on the sentencing of Villalobos?"

Same reason the use AP stories about the Narcoviolence in Mexico. They are scared of stepping on the toes of the movers and shakers and or criminals.

Anonymous said...

Tony Martinez was Limas' campaign tresurer, who thinks he did not get any favors from Limas in return? Now to protect himself from scrutiny in the Limas case Tony the mayor Martinez makes sure Judge Hanen's wife gets paid tens of thousands of dollars to do work that could have been done internally by the cities own attorneys. So what is the mayor getting in return? His name never comes up in the Lima case as if he never knew him. What a great investment of the city's money! That is how I smart guy screws over the city and its citizens without the dumb voters knowing what happened.

Somebodys feelings got hurt..

Tony torments, Da Mayor, is just another bandit filling his deep pockets. He should resign and move on while he is ahead.

Anonymous said...

No olviden que Da Mayor tambien es un rata con dos patas en la ciudad.

Probably the one banging the wife. .

Fighting with the truth is very effective. .

Maybe Cameron county should try it some time.

Anonymous said...

So is he really in county jail waiting to be sent to federal prison? I hope the news puts a picture of him with a bald head like they did with Joe Lopez grupo Mazz.

chief cool arrow said...

Folks oh yes i hope the the FBI, federales dont forgot about other people that were involved as well lets see how about; aurora de la garza, oscar de al fuente, sofia son, the witness who lied and got paid 25k by rosenthal, other workers at the district clerk who are now runnign fo rhtat position, they always knew waht was going on, and so on and so forth. Feds make it stick and gather up more of these corrupted folks that need to be punished the bid fish are caught now time for some little fish too, i say.

He wants release to take care of personal matters??

What may that be?
Very frightening idea.

Anonymous said...

Eye for an eye...but not enough time for VillaWolves
What they all did was a shame and a disgrace for the judicial system and their clueless voters.Have known the guy for long and knew that sooner than later all the dirty things happening with his unprofessional and unethical law practice and with his immoral personal life would not bring good things for him. Another example and sad story of what poor character drugs greediness alcohol and bad company can do to a weak mind. Let's be more careful and try to deeply scrutinize our futures candidates personal moral values and professional conduct..
But not good idea to cry before going to jail because more than one going to be waiting for you to make you their Bitch

He had 9 months from the time he was convicted! Forget your personal matters they are now PUBLIC. Villalobos go suck huevos, LMAO!
