The Corpus Christi Caller reported that as of June 9 there had been 50 applicants for the job of superintendent at the Corpus Christi ISD.
We had heard that among those applicants was included the name of Carl Montoya, the current Brownsville Independent School District superintendent and tried to ascertain the fact.
However, the rumors have spread far and wide that Carl, indeed, had applied for the CC ISD gig.
We inquired of Dyana Worshel, a reporter at the Caller about whether Montoya's name was among the 50 applicants and she said that the CC ISD does not release its list of applicants.
In fact, she said that the board had narrowed the list down to six finalist but that their names had not been released either
Worshel wrote that the goal is to have a new superintendent named before the first day of school Aug. 25,with trustees expected to interview candidates the week of July 14.
With Montoya denying he has applied – and numerous other sources asserting he has – will we learn before the CC ISD trustees make their decision whether he has or not?

Carl Montoya is looking to get out of the most corrupt school system in Texas. Is he unhappy with his big salary and the big asses he can kiss on the BISD board of "un-trutees". Montoya is an idiot who has a PH.D (Pile it High and Deep). He is incompetent and we wonder why any other district would want to hire him.
I am a former parent at BISD and my encounters with Dr. Montoya were appreciated. We were new to Brownsville and he was always been polite and visible.
However when it comes to his administration, that's different story. He has obviously inherited some administration with no idea as to what they are doing. Very unethical and arrogant from the principal to the area superintendents we dealt with because it was a power struggle of who had the last word and they were all wrong.
To our surprise have of the BISD top administration and principals are related to each other. How about that?
Who looks into this for
sake of good leadership and not an embarrassment to the school district?
This is why we took our children to IDEA and other parents are finding IDEA looks better every day.
I wonder if he(the superintendent) knows that there are other superintendents in other states that donate half of their salaries to their respective districts to help out in teachers' salaries, student incentives, but for what I read above he wants (or needs) a raise. Whatever happen to "We are here for the Children"? There are a great number of people like that in the district. Some are there for the MONEY and for the "free time".
Pistol-packing Ringo Montoya will never make it in CCISD. The NACO BISD board made sure he was doomed for failure. The best thing for him is get a job teaching target shooting 101 with the most powerful Naca in the world. The Navy Seals are in desperate need for sharp-shooters!

Carl Montoya is the corrupt one along with the four board members and the Board attorney not the district. He's not tired of kissing Minerva's huge ass, he's afraid of the new board members coming in, he's no dummy. He looks it but he's not.

Mendoza was named to this crooked board in x change to raise his crooked arm to approve a crooked contract. Reader :notice the word crooked used several times.
At 1% raise does that mean that the classified would get a $10.00 month increase? That is not a raise! That is an insult!
