READERS SEND IN WORKING MAQUINTA (EIGHT-LINER) SITES

(Our coverage of the sale of 500 eight-liner games to a Georgia-based gaming company which has subsidiaries in Brownsville represented by attorneys Carlos Masso and Rick Zayasby the Cameron County DA's Office  struck a never among our three readers. Below is a sample of the responses. The photo above is said to depict an eight-liner arcade in Olmito which has gone about its business undisturbed by Operation Bishop's cracker jacks. The other is one on North San Marcelo which is said to use a church gathering as a cover for their operation. In the case of the eight-liner operation on Dockberry and FM 511,  they use the cover of a faith-healer to go about their business and is reported to have continued operating even though the DA's Office had announced they had raided and closed the place down. The last comment refers to the staff meeting where D.A. Luis Saenz instructed his staff to keep mum about the goings on in that office.)

Yes the gamerooms r still around only those who contributed to Saenz campaign. Look in Olmito in Pete Gillmans property his former Law Office in the back room. What about San Rafael lounge look behind that one too!!! Or are they exempt because Gillman works for Luis Saenz.?
There is a reason Attorney Hodge says he needs to research a topic before advising, so he can avoid feeling as I do now, like a smacked ass.
After doing some research, DA Saenz can use the money his office receives from forfeitures any we he sees fit, according to Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and does not have to turn it over to the county.

However, Chapter 59, Article 59.06, titled DISPOSITION OF FORFEITED PROPERTY, states “(a) Except as provided by Subsection (k), all forfeited property shall be administered by the attorney representing the state, acting as the agent of the state, in accordance with accepted accounting practices and with the provisions of any local agreement entered into between the attorney representing the state and law enforcement agencies. If a local agreement has not been executed, the property shall be sold on the 75th day after the date of the final judgment of forfeiture at public auction under the direction of the county sheriff, after notice of public auction as provided by law for other sheriff's sales.”

Did the DA violate the law? I believe he did when the machines were not sold at public auction. Below is the link to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure so you can judge for yourself.

Luis Saenz is all about personal power.......not about public service. When he was DA before, he took advantage of the women in his office and dismissed DUI's for his friends and those willing to pay him...or his staff. Today, Luis is just as corrupt, but due to his past extra-martital adventures...his wife has him by the short hairs and he has to make his "extra" money in a different way. Luis Saenz is a DICK!
