(Ed.'s Note: The early voting in the runoff race for Cameron County Judge between former Brownsville mayor Eddie Treviño and former Pct. 4 commissioner Dan Sanchez got under way today and it all came out in the wash. For months many wondered where the different elected officials stood in that race. We know, for example, that Pct. 1 commissioner Sofia Benavides is with Sanchez, while her opponent Bea Rosenbaum and commissioner Pct. 2 commissioner Alex Dominguez have voiced support for Treviño. Also, we know that Cameron County Clerk Sylvia Garza-Perez is staking her political future backing Treviño as is Brownsville mayor Tony Martinez. Martinez and Trevino (as PUB legal counsel) work together on that board. As far as the city commissioners of Brownsville, Jessica Tetreau-Kalifa aligned with Treviño and Rick Longoria with Sanchez. What we didn't know was where Cesar de Leon stood. Well, now we know. He is the guy in the white shirt and dress pants with his best side toward the camera facing the Treviño sign. If de leon harbors designs on the mayorship the City of Brownsville, he'll probably need Treviño's help more than he will need Sanchez's endorsement. Ah, the signs of the times.)

He is said to be boning up for the next go-round by dating the former squeeze of Muni Judge Ben Neece. That Captain. Shifty as a wise bracero, got his babe and his Big Dream of winning an election.
Cesar de Leon is a commissioner for the city of Brownsville so the right thing to do its to support the candidate from Brownsville
