FUNNY HOW NO CITY OFFICIALS WANT A PHOTO OP WITH THIS

(Ed.'s not: If you expect Da Mayor Tony Martinez or any one of our city commissioners to ask for a photo opportunities or to claim credit for the chronic flooding that covers most of the city when a steady rain falls for even a half hour in the city, don't hold your breath. Instead, some want to set new zumba dance records, do away with greasy or starchy food, or set new records for the most kids fishing in a resaca, Others want to make everyone ride a bicycle, perhaps even invent one with fins to navigate our flooded streets. Others want to have the city pay for a tribute to a gorilla killed in Cincinatti, have the GBIC pay for their buddies' scams, and in general, ignore what is becoming an embarrassing spectacle now that the rainy season is here. Should we call it St. Charles Street Lake Portillo? Or Lake Gowen, Lake Tetreau, Lake Longoria, Lake de Leon, Villarreal, or the Great   Cabler Dam? Or Peeing Dog Pond? Or perhaps the All-American City Cenote?)

How about Jessica's Tetreu "Its a HUGE Mess". Of course District 2 where she lives or much less her street down the street from her BFF Bobby Whitman never floods. Well at least not in the last year since she moved into her new home with her new found wealth after being elected commissioner.

She thanks God for the rain because that will dirty a lot of cars and bring thousands of cars to her carwash. People will line up and down the streets to get their car washed at her beat up husbands place and she could post all day on her facebook page how overwhelmed she is with complaints that the city public works doesn't do anything. But rest you little pathetic Brownsvile,People all she has to do is post that she is on top of it and type words like DONE,GOT IT,I'M ON TOP OF IT...Because she thinks you are stupid enough to believe it.

What's your beef, Juan? Most poverty-stricken cities and towns have flooding problems. Look at Saigon, Bangkok, Manila, Caracas. Closer to home, look at Matamoros! Plus, Juan, it moves the cockroaches from one neighborhood to the next!!!!

Just a friendly note. If anyone drove their bicycle through deepwater then the bearings will need to be re-greased. Avoid an expensive bearing job. Look for me at the north west corner of the old cemetery for a free estimate / bearing check.

None of the city commissioners, nor the mayor live in a flood prone area of the city. Flooding downtown is a problem for the "development" of downtown and a reason us folks don't want to go down there...floods, thieves, street walkers, the "good the bad and the ugly". It is a place where poor Mexicans shop and we hope we don't have to go. Several months ago, Tony Martinez was shouting praised for the coming "Las Palmas" shopping area on the Expressway. I don't think he had ever been seen that far away from downtown during his tenure as mayor. Where is "Las Palmas" today....just a mudhole...do progress except tearing down the hotel that had been there. Mayor Martinez, thanks, you surely don't have control of anything except overpaying for real estate.

Last time anyone checked her Facebook was flooded with thank you'S from people who were happy about central avenue being paved and a new ambulance station being opened.

The city government of Brownsville is a puzzle.
Most of its actions seemed designed to give McAllen every advantage for businesses or new residents trying to decide where to settle.
Brownsville has the highest utility rates and rising, worst real estate market, dirtiest streets, and if the Hospital District is voted in to enable more graft and corruption, it will have the highest taxes in south Texas. It gave up trying for the UT medical school to Edinburg and its chance for a new campus to Pan American. Why?

This cannot be by accident, could it? Conspiracy to sell out for a $ million in payoff to one lady and millions to other favored fake advisiors?. I guess we finally have a model: Puerto Rico !

How much lower can they go?

I think most of the Commission mean well but they are simply incompetent and poorly led. Just look at the results.

However, the FBI isn't done yet.

The city commissioners are rubber stampers for the city staff, they are NOT policy makers.

Look at the caliber of people on Tetreau's page. They're fucking stupid like her so of course they're going to "like" and applaud every stupid thing she posts. She's living in a fantasy and they're cheering her on.
