That's what Magistrate Alfredo Padilla probably thought when he arrived at the Cameron County Magistrate Court in Olmito this weekend and found up to six inches of backed up sewer wastewater covering the floor of the newly-constructed courtroom.
The force behind the back flow was such that a county maintenance worker prying off a lid had it blow up in his face and he had to be rushed to the hospital when he accidentally was covered with liquid and he inadvertently swallowed some of the vile stiff.
Bondsmen who were there to release clients said that the workers were working to remove the sludge over the the weekend.
The new magistrate building is under the direction of the board of Cameron County Judges who use it to book inmates and hold hearings for prisoners. Sheriff Dept. spokesmen say their department does not oversee any of the operations of the court.
"We have a corridor we use to take inmates before the magistrate, but that's about it," said Chief Deputy Gus Reyna. "The sheriff does not have any operational oversight over the building."
Since it is the responsibility of the county's maintenance department, Reyna could not say if the problem had been corrected or if the backflow of sewage had ruined some of the carpeting and construction at the court.
There are two magistrates on rotation at the court. One is Alfredo Padilla and the other is Alfredo Padilla. They have not announced whether they will continue holding court in the building or what the extend of the damage to the court might have been.
"I know that sometimes judges have to put up with a lot of crap and sometimes dish it out themselves," quipped a county worker. "The Lord works in mysterious ways sometimes."

If "Chief Deputy" Gus Reyna has to wade through shit to do his job; he deserves it. Too bad Gus didn't get the "vile" shit in his snout.
Juanito could you please investigate how much those two judges get paid and how many hours they clock in for every other week that they go work? And check out how they can still have the guts to squeeze the county for court appointment clients at the same time?????
Your story is wrong. First it was not sewage water and the pic you posted is not from the new court. If you are going to post a picture do your research. The restroom at the courts do not look or are nothing like this. So your picture is a fabrication just to sell a story. A real journalist wouldnt have to do this so your story just like the picture is full of ...
"One is Alfredo Padilla and the other is Alfredo Padilla. "
I'm confused
