(Ed.'s Note: We knew there was something wrong when the motorcycle cop veered out from in front of us and when he was headed east on E. Price road toward Old Port Isabel Road and turned to the opposite way toward Hanna High School. Sure enough, it appears that the driver of the pickup truck forgot that his license plate registration was expired.
It has been pointed out to us that the Texas Transportation Code 502.407 states that (a) A person commits an offense if, after the fifth working day after the date the registration for the vehicle expires. This must mean that the driver of that truck had probably neglected to renre the registration for morte than amonth. So if you don't renew it on time, the motorcycle cop (who, by the way, is at eye level with your windshield) will stop and issue you a citation. Don't count on the cops being lenient, either, they're not riding around in the hot sun in their dark outfits for their health.)

Jelly donut-eaters!
People are always hauling ass through there especially in morning during school time.
I get a laugh when I pass next to a motorcycle cop. They stare your windshield down like a hawk.
They're out there to chingar.
There are many, many expired registration tags all over the city. This is the unfortunate one that a cop happened to see. The city loses lots of money because most cops don't pull folks over for that infraction. Cops also seem to ignore vehicles with Mexican plates that ignore seat belt laws on this side. Most cops don't want to exit their air-conditioned cars to ticket violators.
Law states you have 5 business days after the expiration date. Tax office staffer is wrong.
