Re: Lopez Scholarship Fund
Dear BISD students, teachers, and Citizens of Brownsville,The lawsuit filed does not ask for any monetary damages. It is about principal (sic). However,
if awarded $1 ,000,000,000.00 we announce the creation of the Lopez Scholarship Foundation.
Lucy has decided she will give the $1,000,000,000,00 to the Brownsville community and the BISD family as follows:
1) Every student who took and got a 3 or higher on the AP Spanish exam in middle school and was
denied GPA weight in high school, will get $10,000.00 a year to pay for college tuition. (This
issue is important to us because it discriminates against those most likely to pass the AP Spanish
test.)
2) Once a month every student who improves from a C to a B will get $50 per class. If you go from
a C to an A you get $100.00. (Learning matters to us and we will pay you to learn and show improvement.)
3) We will buy matching shoes for the basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track teams at the middle
and high schools; Michael Jordan, Nike, etc.
4) We will buy Texas Instrument calculators for a math and science classes in high school.
5) Each elementary teacher will get $500 in school supplies. Many of you pay for your school
supplies out of your pocket.
6) We will pay for the girls who make UCA Dance and Cheer to go to New York for the Macy's
Parade and bowl games. Many girls make UCA, but can't afford to attend the events
7) Lucy loves being a cheerleader and every year some of her friends do not tryout for the team
because they can't afford the $1,000.00 uniform. We will pay for the uniform, shoes, etc.
8) Build playgrounds with accomodations for special needs at the elementary schools and the
high schools, so all kids get P.E.
9) We will donate $10,000,000.00 to each high school to build a state-of-the-art courtroom.
10) We will pay for the Destination Imagination (01) teams to go nationals and World competition.
11) The power lifting team's trips will be funded. The days of having to sell t-shirts to pay for your
trips are gone.
12) We will pay for tutors for the football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and volleyball teams
to support our athletes academically.
13) Students who ride the bus to and from school can't stay for tutorials, band, etc. practice.
We will create the Lopez bus for students who need rides after school for tutorials and practices.
14) We will buy 2 condominiums near M.D. Anderson so those who need a place may stay free
of charge. Beat cancer! Get well.
15) Every senior will get a yearbook and his/her graduation ring. We want every student to graduate
high school.
16) We will update Egly elementary sign language facilities and provide classes, so all children learn
some sign language.
17) Holy Family Catholic Church will get $1 ,000,0000.00.

Stupid story, bro.
Is Lucy taking AP Math? She doesn't know how to add!
That's how is supposed to be spent to begin with but all goes to foot ball.
Just read the story of the lawsuit filed by the "biggest pig and dumbest pig" in Cameron County! I can understand defending your child but this is over kill by a "bully" and her attorney, Acevedo. I just wonder how much Acevedo charged the "pig" to represent her? Or, is Acevedo going to be rewarded in the "pigs" courtroom? What kind of favoritism is Acevedo going to be given from now until the end of this suit? This is the worse of this lawsuit, the "pig" is wanting to sit next to Acevedo in court since she can't represent herself in Federal Court. So, that means a lot of cases will be pushed or continued for the "pigs" neglect on the bench because of a personal vendetta toward the BISD. I guess Joe Rodriguez didn't want to share any of the monies that "he" reaps from the BISD? Thank you to the idiots that voted for this "pig" and put that "pig" on the bench!
Oh, I know that the "pig" will read this since the "pig" had this on the lawsuit!
Stupid story?
Don't read it!
DON'T FORGET TO HELP CATE SOME LABS DO NOT HAVE A/C.
Wow, how about investing it in remedial reading and writing...
“4) We will buy Texas Instrument calculators for a math and science classes in high school.”
I love it! There are many good ideas here.
Another suggestion: Pay the top-scoring A+ kids in each subject to serve as after-school tutors one-on-one, to every kid who wants extra help in that subject, especially those who are struggling academically. It would reward students who master the material, while they help lift up the grades of their peers.
I used to be a peer tutor, we were paid by the school to work individually with other students after school for 2 hour shifts. Sometimes only four or five kids showed up to be split between the tutors that day. Around exam time, a waiting line would form outside the door of students asking for help. We were paid $10 an hour by the school (many years ago) so this after-school tutoring was a free service to any student, held in a few empty classrooms. In every subject, English, chemistry, calc, the top scoring kids in each class were offered a paid job to individually tutor anyone who walked in. No appointments, first come, for a 20 minute session. Some came in with one or two questions and would leave after 5 minutes, others could stay an hour or longer if no one else was waiting in line. $10 /hr was a lot for a teen back then. Today maybe equivalent to $15/ hr, certainly I was making more per hour than my friends working at Pizza hut. Worked monday - weds - friday. There were two or three of us working as tutors for each subject, at a time. We tutors sat around a big conference table for our shift, and as other students came in, we would set a timer and they would sit next to us and they would bring their homework or their books, and they would ask questions and we would work through their problems together. The next room had the English comp tutoring, next room was chemistry and so on. If you were struggling in more than one subject you could get help by going room to room, and the kids with the top grades in each subject would sit with you to help you you understand and work through the homework.
Most who came in were average students, able to understand the material quickly, but were intimidated to ask questions in class, some had failing grades because they were too afraid to speak up. Maybe afraid of being laughed at. They had fallen behind and needed help to get back up to speed. Other kids had serious difficulties with the English language and didn't understand half of what the teacher was saying, so they just wanted someone to explain the material to them slowly and work through it. Many of the kids' parents did not understand math or science very well and were unable to help them at home.
Afterwards, we filled a form which asked for the student's name, a review of what we covered, and any issues or problems that student was struggling with, so the administration could keep track of that student's progress. Helped a lot of kids avoid failing. Often edged up B students to A students. The teachers seemed to appreciate their students getting personal tutoring at no charge, several times every week, from someone their own age. A different approach, even A students came in sometimes for a review session. Some kids brought papers or exams with an A written on it, really proud, when they had first come to us with C's. Then of we graduated, and the new crop of high GPA students took our place, making money helping the other students in that school master the material in each course of study.
When I took the national standardized test in my final year, I scored in the top 95% nationwide in the subject I had tutored. I had not realized how useful this was, to me, because even as I was helping others pull their grades up, I was reinforcing and mastering this material by three years of repetition. I mostly considered it an easy job for weekend spending money, but had I known how beneficial this practice of teaching others would prove for my own scores nationally, I would have spent more time in tutoring sessions for other subjects. Another idea for the Lopez Cornejo scholarship foundation, good luck.
You have no idea how much this means to me as as a single parent, God Bless Elia...may justice prevail.
It's as real as Santa Clause.
If this idiot was a school board member once, does she not know the BISD's policies? Now she wants to have BISD bow to her chingaderas. That is why she hate Laura for speaking out against her at the board meeting. You should have seen la marana look at her with her hateful face while Laura was speaking. She should also know the cost of all she intends to do once she becomes a millionaire - does she not think BISD wants to do that for the children? But she is the first one that cries when taxes go up for the district. It is truly a shame that she is bring Lucy up the way she is, for Lucy would be a super kid if she did not have the burden of satisfying her Mom and making a fool out of herself, just like her Mom. Just remember Elia, when people show you hate and disregard for being such a chingona.
Or so you think you are!!!
Weight loss surgery? Have a friend who looks awesome and it ONLY cost about $2,000.
Could still do a lot with the rest of the dream - Monopoly money.
Lucy should be in special ED!
She got into GT because the teacher that gave her the test plays cards with Elia.
Yea but what if this lady complaints are true and these dumb asses on the board especially administration settle with her for millions then what. These fuck tards will settle settle with her with our tax dollars because the incompetence of administration just to keep the truth from coming out.Hope she's not doing it just for the money let the incompetence of these people come out because the tax payers want to no whats really going on.
Folks- bullying the kids in blogs solves nothing
Bisd should of just heard the complaint and followed the process
How many times did the Supt sit with the parent to hear the concerns?
Supt will sit with men in suits but not other women? Classic dr z -
Supt could of at least tried to resolve concerns or listen—- and now she wants everyone to feel sorry for her
Forget it
If a person sets an appointment to be heard, they are heard at the particular time. But when someone wants to be heard whenever "se le inche" that raises a problem. Everyone knows that she was heard at the board meeting and was not allowed to mention names publically as is the policy on record. She then tried to speak at a Special Called Board meeting and she of all people, after having been a "sitting-fat board member" should have known that there is no provision for public audience during a special called board meeting. Then she wants to walk into anybody's office and everyone is suppose to drop everything to meet with her and if they don't, she leaves a threatening message as to what she will do. Of, and don't forget that she went to someone's house at 12 midnight and she expected her to respond at that time???
Who does this bitch think she is? Now she wants to prove she can become a billionaire overnight. And she calls herself a judge? If I had to go before her in court, I would ask for a change of venue, for what example is she giving everyone with her behavior? What ever happened to the hit and run accident and the stolen red Mercedes that suddenly returns to the front of her Sunset Street house?
The super will not hear people. I was transferred to another campus this summer against my will I requested a meeting. She refused to sit with me. I was still reassigned. The idiot that runs human resources tried to convince the move was the vest for the district and i was an aset to the students. She told me i could seek employment elsewhere if I wished but the stup would not see me.

Try to improve on your grammar, spelling, make sense of what you are trying to convey, and if your are a teacher please change your career to something like house cleaning or the service industry.
When someone is reassigned to another campus is because of an administrative transfer when the teacher and the administrator do not see eye to eye on things and make it known in such discord that it prevents the smooth running of the campus. When we sign our contracts we must recall that the last statement says - subject to reassignment by the superintendent! There are certain TEA rules that must be followed to be entitled to funds under a specific code and so if the enrollment drops in the campus, the FTE's must be reduced. It should be the last one in is the first one out, but who in their right mind is going to want to keep a trouble maker, good for nothing but stirring up trouble, on campus when the last one who came in was moved because of their expertise and certification in an area that the campus needs.
Teachers seem to complain about everything if it doesn't go their way and never evaluate the real situation. They need to learn and accept that they are not the top of the priority list over the students. We are there to serve the students and not ourselves.
Like La Chingona de la Rachel used to say, "El que es buen gallo, en cualquier gallinero canta!" So start crowing and if you don't like, don't let the door hit you in your back. Maybe SPA will take you with her to Rio Hondo - oh, but just watch out for the knife in your back.
