Overheard at the Cameron County Elections Office: Extending the filing period for a week after Benny Ochoa III substituted his son's name – Benny "Bo" Ochoa IV – on the 208 Democratic Party primary March 6, 2018.Apparently, people were so miffed that Ochoa (III) had pulled off the switch and bait worthy of the best at the pirate cove known as Port Isabel, that they were actually seriously contemplating the filing deadline extension.
Now, why doesn't that surprise us? Well, this is Cameron County, after all, boys, and we do things a little different here.
We didn't stick around to hear the rest of the political philosophy emanating from Remi Garza's shop, it might just prove contagious.
