FAJITA THEFT MAN SENTENCED TO 50-YEAR SENTENCE DOING TALACHA IN RUCKER-CARRIZALES JAIL KITCHEN

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Call it poetic justice. Or injustice, if you want.

We have received word that Gilbert Escamilla, the staff member of the Cameron County Darrell B. Hester Juvenile Probation Facility who admitted his guilt to stealing more than $1.2 million in fajitas over a nine-year span is now working as a trustee in the kitchen of the Rucker-Carrizales county jail in Olmito.

We've published posts here before echoing the sentiments of many readers who felt that the 50-year sentence Escamilla accepted  on his own was way too much for the crime he committed.

But then it has come to be known that Asst. DA Peter Gilman had told him that he was going to ask for 30 years and in the end he asked for 50, nuch to the surprise of the defendant. But by then, it was too late and Visiting Judge Manuel BaƱales assessed the sentence and Escamilla was incarcerated.

Escamilla, according to court sources, did not want to incriminate anyone else who was in the scheme with him and did not even call character witnesses to his sentencing. To the chagrin of his defense, he had apparently decided to take the medicine and to not incriminate anyone else, including local businessmen and politicians who may have profited from the thefts.

Be that as it may, the fact that Escamilla is doing trusty talacha while he awaits his transfer to the Texas Department of Corrections give us pause. Let's hope they don't put him in charge of ordering food for the inmates there.

Probably something you know NOTHING about.
The poor man calls it WORK.
It's TALACHA, NOT Talache . DICTIONARY gives same definition.
Who has the capital P in its forehead?

Gilbert was a high roller way beforehand.
Finally caught up with him.
I used to admire his fancy cars, girlfriends and properties.
Oh well.
He lived HIGH ON THE HOG for a few years.

Sheriff Omar "The Tent Maker" Lucio and the Reyna Brothers will probably have him in charge of their kitchen and allow him to steal fajitas for them.

Know wonder Tony Yzaguirre,Trejo reviewed the bank statement evidence with the jury. Not all of the $329,539.40 could be explained the fajita barbecue tickets, she said and Gabino Vasquez Commissioner.

Cesar Lopez, Carlos Elizondo, Laura Perez, Joe rodriguez, zendejas and Balrazar also should get 50 years in prison for the illegal purchase of barbacoba fron Mexico endangering students and employees!

And what about las otras Viejas de Sylvia y Minerva? Aren't they suppose to be one team?
Zendejas does not vote for any thing - only the board is allowed to vote - did you not know this?

The word is that Mario Saenz was part of the scheme on Fajitagate. Someone should investigate Team Saenz.

Zendejas is the Superintendent she's the sole responsible for the district! Knowing it was wrong she should have gone public reporting this illegal purchase.
Yeah, if the viejas voted for the barbacoba they are just as guilty! Todos parejos!
