AFTER 34 YEARS OF RENE OLIVEIRA, THIS IS WHAT DISTRICT 37 FAMILIES HAVE TODAY:
*Number of people with less than high school education is 40,134, or about 41.7 percent compared to the statewide average of 18.4 percent.
*Persons in poverty numbered 65,090, or 39.1 percent compared to the statewide average of 7.7 percent.
*Likewise, per capita income was $13,416 compared to the statewide average of $26,513.
THIS TALK OF "SENIORITY" HAS GOTTEN OLD.
He boasts of ranking fifth in seniority in the Legislature. This is how his district ranks on family income with the other four:
1. Tom Craddick, Amarillo $32,938 10.9 percent in poverty
2. Sephonia Thompson , Houston $15,742 27.8 percent in poverty
3. Harold Dutton, Houston, $19,867 24.5 percent in poverty
4. John Smithee, Amarillo, $27,603 12.4 percent in poverty
5. Oliveira, Brownsville (SPI), $13,416 39.1 percent in poverty
Yet, he is asking for another two years to "finish" the job. Hasn't he done "enough?"
HAS HIS DRINKING AND PHILANDERING INURED HIM TO THE MISERY AROUND HIM?
From 2007 to 2016, The Texas Monitor reported that "Oliveira has treated his constituents and associates to plenty of campaign-funded meals. Cobbleheads Bar & Grill tops the list, with $41,609.02 spent on 531 occasions. Other Brownsville restaurants where Oliveira has paid for meals include Madeira ($13,281.81) and Toscafino’s ($13,134.35).
(That's the same establishment he left April 27, two weeks ago, when he slammed into a woman from behind while driving under the influence and left the scene before police arrived. Police found the car at his house with both tires flat and extensive damage to the front end. He refused to take the alcohol blood test or a sobriety test and was arrested.)
"An examination of campaign fund expenditure...shows that the Democrat from Brownsville spent at least $16,105 at liquor stories between Jan. 1, 2007 and Dec. 31, 2016, with descriptions that include “beverages for capitol office” and “beverages for district office for constituents."
"Those expenditures, which include $6,228.33 at Jones Liquor and $5,730.54 at Ben’s Liquor, both in Brownsville, are part of a total of more than $250,000 Oliveira has spent out of his campaign funds over the past decade on extravagant living for himself and gifts for his constituents."
(P.S: This week, District 37 voters have an opportunity to help Oliveria stop his binging and perhaps save his life and the life of others who might get in his way when he is drinking and driving. Vote for his opponent, Cameron County Pct. 2 Commissioner Alex Dominguez and bring back sanity to our state representation. Early voting began Monday and ends this Friday. Election Day is Tuesday, May 22. Make your vote count.)

Why do you think that they call me "Rear-ender Rene" someone has been talking out of school. I have beat the mongoose as he has not come after me. He has a lot of information about what I have done but I am the black Mamba Rene Oliveira who is untouchable, look has the woman had her car repaired. I don't think so.
He is a crooked corrupt slime ball, but he's for you, so be for him.
When I moved here 25 years ago I saw a fertile ground of good people and tremendous possibilities given the location on the border, with NAFTA on the horizon. Yes, there was government corruption and the compadre system was in full force, but I had hopes that it would change. Nope. 25 years later, the good people of Cameron County are still being stiffed and shafted. Mainly due to people like Rene Oliveira, the compadre system still rules and the people lose. The monies he got from the Titan Tire fiasco in the 1990's and now the LNG's (and many more) apparently is simply feeding his addition to alcohol and power (a terrible combination - even Donald Trump doesn't drink) and creating not only a menace to our society, but a menace on the roads. He said he was "embarrassed" and "fortunate" nobody got hurt; how about "ashamed" and "you could have just as easily killed someone" in that rear-ender and/or in the other accidents you have had while drunk. Rene Oliveira has clearly demonstrated that he has LETHAL judgement.
"He is a crooked corrupt slime ball, but he's for you, so be for him". Possibly the most stupid comment possible, but consistent with the motto of Cameron County..."We don't just accept corruption, we demand corruption." A vote for that "slime ball" is a wasted vote. Rene has never done anything for this community and he never will. He spends all his waking hours thinking about booze and poontang. Rene will keep this community poor if you vote for him. Time to see if Rene is capable of making a living without being on the public tit. Just say NO to Rene and hope that Alex Dominguez can correct what Rene has destroyed over 34 years.
I STILL THINK THAT COBBLEHEADS IS AS RESPONSIBLE AS OLIVERIA FOR THE ACCIDENT THAT REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE INJURING THE DRIVER AND THE CHILD.
3.What is the law regarding serving alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated person?
Selling an alcoholic beverage with criminal negligence to an intoxicated person is a violation of Section 101.63 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code. It is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine between $100 and $500 and/or up to a year in jail.
TABC:Mobile is TABC's preferred way of securely filing complaints and officially filing breach-of-peace reports quickly and easily. Filing with TABC:Mobile takes just minutes and provides verification of receipt by TABC.
You may also file a complaint about possible violations of the law on TABC-licensed premises, or to report possible alcohol-related violations taking place at any location, you may do so by filling out a TABC Complaint Form and providing it to our agency.
Complaint Form in Word format, Complaint Form in PDF format or submit the on-line form.
You can use the form to report:
•A bar, restaurant, store or other TABC-licensed location that is: ◦Selling alcoholic beverages to minors or intoxicated people;
◦Selling alcoholic beverages after the legal hours of sale;
◦Conducting illegal activity involving gambling, illicit drug use or prostitution;
◦Owned by someone other than the person named on the permit; or
◦Involved in any other illegal activity.
•A Private Club that is serving alcoholic beverages to non-members of the club.
•An individual illegally providing alcoholic beverages to a minor.
•Parties or events involving minors illegally consuming alcoholic beverages.
•An individual selling alcoholic beverages without a TABC permit.
•Any other illegal activity that involves alcoholic beverages.
There you have it NOW DO SOMETHING OR DON'T VOTE FOR THIS JERK.
I would agree that Rene is disgraceful person and should be voted out of office. That said, he is not responsible for Brownsville being the poverty and ignorance capitol of the United States. These stats are on the culture of Brownsville. A goodly percentage of the population does not value education or accomplishment. When people do not aspire to improve their lot in life, they will remain where and how they are.
Deep thoughts:
How is it possible, that he has women wanting to sleep with him? The guy looks like Brian Peppers!!! Que asco *barf*
TABC is busy targeting under age drinking
They refrain from messing with politicos or "influential community members". Sad to say but they target the poor and under educated (thanks BISD).
The bigger the panza the bigger the cHanza!!!
I WILL BE FILING A CITIZEN'S COMPLAINT ON COBBLEHEADS TODAY FOR SERVCING ALCOHOL TO INTOXICATED INDIVIDUALS. IN THIS SITUATION PARTICLALLY REFERRING TO AN ACIDENT THAT RESULTED IN INJURIES REFERNCING THIS POST. THANK YOU FOR THE TEXAS STATUTE TO FOLLOW.
I hope that everybody that reads this blog will file a complain against that beer joint. I have and I hope you can do the same.
Where can you turn for help to report a slimeball that has power and is untouchable as Oliveira has proven himself with his DWI, he committed at least 6 more offenses and has not been charged. His wife committed a number of offenses and not charged, why was she not breathalysed as well, what message do you think that sends to us ordenary people, as the tip line are of no use.
It depends on type of complain try FBI, Texas Rangers, TABC, ethics committees on elected officials, lawyers, and any Texas licencee like a counsel, look under state of Texas.gov. Good luck. The all have hot lines.
