THUNDEROUS SILENCE FROM POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS LEADERS

We can't say that we're surprised that the Brownsville Independent School District hasn't issued a statement criticizing the separation of parents from their children and the latter placed in detention camps. The BISD doesn't care about its 7,000 employees and 45,000 students. They only exist to generate jobs and money in order to enrich trustees Joe Rodriguez, Cesar Lopez and Carlos Elizondo.

Los Tres Malos, as they are becoming known locally, face reelection in November. They need to go and the blogs will wage a relentless campaign against these scalawags from now until the elections, so there is no need to delve into detail presently.

The disappointment is Dr. Esperanza Zendejas. She knows firsthand the journey from south of the border to the United States, yet she says nothing. As she ages she has lost her idealism and is preoccupied most with feathering her nest. Perhaps when she retires wealthy she will return to her artistic roots.

Image result for SILENCE IN THE FACE OF EVILThe Cameron County Party remains speechless. State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr, State Representative Eddie Lucio III, State Democratic Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa, County Judge Eddie Trevino and Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez have uttered nothing against this outrage.

They remain tight-lipped while Donald Trump blames the Democrats for these de facto jails when this is a Republican policy. As long as big money is involved, Cameron County Democrats traditionally ignore social injustices when they can fill their pockets with cash at the expense of other Hispanics.

The Catholic Church has disgraced itself. There has not been one word from the pulpits against the children whom Jesus Christ cherished most. Bishop Daniel Flores refuses to lead the forces of God against the legions of Satan. He is a man who washes his hands four and five times daily because he doesn't intend to get them dirty. In his concept of separation of church and state, he adheres to the historical tradition that the Nazis can exterminate Jews while the Pope remains quiet.

And there is Republican Carlos Cascos who is predicting that he will defeat Trevino for county judge in November. Is Cascos nothing more than a Trump clone? Is this macho little more than a puppet of the extreme right comprised of rednecks, reactionaries, racists and religious radicals? Attorney General Jeff Sessions says the bible countenances this treatment of families. Does Cascos read the same scriptures?

We live in the most impoverished, ignorant and corrupt region in the nation. We are the Third World Capital of the United States. Only Congressman Filemon Vela has been willing to go mano-a-mano with Trump personally and challenge him directly on his inhumanitarian treatment of these refugees.

We are the cockroaches on the world.

What is the issue?

El Braino said...

Juan These immigration issues have been on the congressional dockets for years and/or decades, so we cant just blame the republicans only as the democrat party has been in power in congress and senate during some of those years but yet has failed to address this hot issue, so now this is the price our good old USA is paying. Republicans and democrats need to stop this blame game and get to the business of correcting these issues as best they can.

Mr. Montoya, who feeds you the crap about Dr. Zendejas? I wish to correct you on your description of this fine lady. I wish to even set up a face-to-face interview with her so that you will find out just how much of a fine lady she is. She is my friend, my boss, and I love working with her because she is about the children. If the Congressman are not allow in the building, how do you expect for these children to attend school? If you can work it out so they can come to BISD, I am sure she and all of us would welcome them in our classrooms. This lady has done more for children in our district than any of the total superintendents we have had in the district and all she gets are comments like yours. Thank God she does not listen to such propaganda by people who do not like that she runs a tight ship. The adult board members, and even us teachers, are not under her direct control for they pull "I am your boss" thing on her. She cares about what the children have and what they say to her, and I have yet to hear any child ever lower themselves to the level that some adults have. If you have nothing good to say about her, leave her out of your blog and try meeting her and listen to her speak her passion for the children. If the adults don't like to be told what to do, they leave the district and go find a better place. I guarantee that you will be another one of those who have left the district and are now crying and asking for a position back in the district. So, Mr. Montoya, shame on you for being a parrot and repeating things you do not truly know. It is a shame that adults are the ones that give the most problems. Bring the children from Walmart and register them at BISD and they will be in the summer school programs right now - those programs our district provides for so many. Enough is enough on downplaying what Dr. Zendejas does for our children and for us, teachers who agree with her passion. Because of what she experienced herself, and has never forgotten, she is open to understand about this children, but she can not go steal them from Walmart. Oh, and the school board even tries to tell her what she can say and cannot say.

1. They are not "detention" camps. They are shelters where minor children of illegal immigrants are held to be release to responsible family member.

2. None of this is Republican program. It is basic immigration law. The difference is now it is being enforced whereas it was not enforced under Obama.

EVERYONE insults, criticizes, but NOBODY gives an alternative solution to the problem.
Forget the Democrats or Republicans. WHAT have the governments of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, WHAT have THEY said at the United Nations? WHAT have they done to protect THEIR citizens? After all, these people are THEIR citizens.
You are old enough to remember the war in El Salvador. You are old enough to remember Jack Elder and Stacy Lynn Merk who were jailed for transporting illegal aliens in the 1980's. At the peak of the conflict (war), Casa Romero CLOSED the gates and there were over 100 people sleeping across on an empty lot were now a gas station and store is located. People were sleeping on wet ground, neighbors from Paso Real took blankets, food and water. The border patrol didn't apprehend them nor did they go inside Casa Romero. Politicians from that time did THE SAME thing politicians are doing right now: NOTHING. Funny thing, another Republican was in office: Ronald Reagan. No CNN, no MSNBC, no New York times asked WHY. Maybe because it was a war approved by Ollie North.
My point is, Central American conflicts have been going on for over 50 yrs and no Republican or Democrat has a solution.
I've read insults, vulgarities, one political side against another, BUT I have YET TO READ or HEAR a SERIOUS politico or wannabe commentator giving a possible solution to a major problem. No, I am NOT a Republican nor Democrat. I disagree with you calling this area a place with roaches. The last time I checked, we are part of the United States of America.

Because Mr. Vela is the only decent human in the corrupted party that claims to be for the people and with the people.
Bunch of sinical cowards.

OK...you are pissed. Why were you not pissed when Obama opened these children's detention facilities?

The Southwest Keys facilities were contracted by the Obama administration. All of this faux outrage has a hollow and phony ring to it. It is just pure political bullshit.

Your blog is now like a tabloid trashing people for the sake of a dollar.
How do you maintain the costs of your blog? Money from those you promise
not to trash.

When these people decide to make it to the USA, they are certainly aware that it will not be all rainbows. They conclude that it is better than what they are experiencing, so they come. If I travel or just go visit in Mexico or any country, I am required to have all sorts of documentation. I must follow certain rules and have a certain date when I must return to my country. What country allows anyone to come in and stay forever? Unless you do it properly, this should not be an expectation. These children are not to blame for the decisions their parents make, but hiding in the jungles, no food, no water, torn shoes, dirty, no baths, certainly affect their outlook. So when they are stopped at the border where they are fed and clothes and taken care off, which do you think they would prefer. Certainly not in a cage, but with the numbers coming across how can the US control their expansion into the country. When they set them up in places like Walmart and The Gallegos-Trump tower, and these people abuse their power when they pay themselves the ridiculous salary they do, it makes the government think twice. Abuse of power is what contributes to this fiasco at all levels. A little child does not understand why they are being taken from their family, so this is where the govt has to work on. Why can the parent not stay with the child? What is the reasoning behind this? Because Trump says so? If I were detained in Mexico, I sure as hell would like for them to treat me with respect and as humanly possible. Those people who are protesting and marching, how about taking one or two kids home with you while their parents get certified.

A few facts to upset people. Those crossing the bridge and asking for asylum are breaking no laws. The US cannot send them back like they do to so many others once they claim asylum. This is international law. I am only speaking of those who cross at a port or entry.

It saddens me to say I have a family member who is still very angry our uncle left his son, our cousin, in NY while on a legal travel visa as an option to avoid his son being forced to fight with the Sandinistas against our allies the Contras. She will tell you point blank these children being killed as soldiers fighting our allies is not our problem. Well it is, we are the drug users feeding the drug kings and their armies.

YOu may not know this but the Embassies are watched by the drug armies for parents taking young boys into the embassy seeking a legal travel visa. These families have nice homes, cars and jobs, but they are given a choice, give up their 13 year old or everyone dies. NO one believes you if you say you would stay and die. As to those going into the Embassy, many end up dead. This is why they flea on foot in the middle of the night. They fear even taking their car.

Yes our immigration system is broken. Please stop saying the Dems could have fixed it. They never had the 60 votes needed in the Senate to pass any law. The Republicans blocked them.

So lets all just be honest, and put your name to it, would you stay in a country where your son at 13 is being drafted to fight for the drug king armies or would you flee? If you would stay you are one shitty parent. And remember we are the drug users these drug armies survive on for money.

Where are our catholics?
Pope francis said “God will not ask us if we felt righteous indignation,” the Pope said, “but whether we did some good.”

True goodness and strength are shown “not in closed fists and crossed arms, but in ready hands outstretched to the poor, to the wounded flesh of the Lord.”

The barracks were connected by the corridors guarded by the Ustashas. Not far from the ambulance, from another barracks, the sad cries of the children were heard. There was set, on the bare floor, four hundred children: newborns, children from a few weeks or months, up to ten years of age. How many children came, and where they were dispatched, could no longer be found out. The children in the childrens barracks cried inexorably and were calling their mothers, who were only a few steps away from the children, but the fascist criminals did not let mothers to approach their children. Older children tell us through tears, that they can not calm the little ones, because they are hungry, there are no one to change diapers of the little ones, and they are afraid that everyone will die. These children, who have not yet reached the age of ten, swear to us, "Come on, sister, bring us mothers, bring at least mothers to these little ones. You will see, if you do not bring them their mothers, they will suffocate, by the tears alone.

Sisak children's concentration camp

Brownsville Children's Concentration Camp

Is this how we want Brownsville to be remembered by???

Anonymous said...

Sisak children's concentration camp officially called "Shelter for Children Refugees" was a concentration camp during World War II located in Sisak, set up by the Ustaše government of the Nazi-puppet state, the Independent State of Croatia, for Serbian, Jewish and Romani children. It was part of the Jasenovac extermination camp[1][2].

The camp's commander was Dr Antun Najžer, a physician known as the "Croatian Mengele".

Shit hole countries, have governments as corrupt as Cameron County and can't provide jobs, security and prosperity for their people. So we are supposed to take their ignorant, unskilled people and do for them, what their own nations refuse to do?

These people contribute no value to America. If they could make America a better place, why didn't they make where they came from a better place?
