HOJA SUELTA SHOWS ROUGH-AND-TUMBLE BISD ELECTION

(Ed.'s Note: We wondered how long it would take for the gloves to come out in the elections for the board of trustees of the Brownsville Independent School District. Well, we didn't have to wait long. The race for Position 2 is between incumbent Carlos Elizondo, Erasmo Castro and Herman Otic Powers, a former BISD trustee.

We have been told that hundreds of hojas sueltas pointing out the two candidates criminal records have been appearing in windshields of cars parked in shopping malls and the parking lots of BISD facilities. We checked, and, except for the fact that there is no political disclaimer, the information in the hoja suelta appears to be true.

(Hojas sueltas, by the way, appear to be a campaign tradition peculiar to South Texas. Supporters of candidates will often take it on their own while they campaign on educational issues in their literature and media ads.)

With early voting starting Monday, we expect more hojas sueltas in other races will start to sprout on the political landscape.)

Joe Rod had a mandatory party for the coaches today at2PM at the Half Moon Saloon. No one showed but the same twenty people who bought 200 chicken plates each the last time he threw a pachanga. This pendejo has no shame. Joe and Carlos Elizondo are seen everywhere together. Coaches dont support Joe Rod because he only took care of his inner circle made up of a few Rivera rejects in Uresti and Tom Chavez. Coaches are tired of the special treatment those two have gotten. Both of them have not won a district game this year. Why do our kids have to pay the price????????????????????????????

Juan what ever happened to the two signatures on the checks, then you would have to have two people to steal the money, and the old saying is, thieves always fall out.

Clearly, the anonymous commenter raised in the lawsuit against Moira Donegan and her collaborators will not end with this case. And regardless of what information the plaintiff gets, the case against Donegan, whose identity is obviously known, raises its own thorny questions, including the distinction between acting as a publisher and providing a mere platform where others contribute information.

We don't current or ex BISD board members on this election. We are fed up of so much corruption and lawsuits due to these incompetent persons. Lets elect new leaders who will make a positive change and who truly care for our students. Let's exercise our constitutional right and vote for new board members.

CARLOS IS A DICK !!
MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS VOTED FOR POWERS.

Elizondo could not run a fire dept, restrain himself from taking money from fire fighters or pass a exam without cheating. That boy has no-brains or shame. Vote for Powers.

Don’t think Otis Powers is any better then the other two running. The last time he was a school board members he treated his family to a vacation to Florida Disney World on tax payers money. Only reason he paid it back was he got caught. So really it comes down to which of the lesser of the 3 evils we want in office. To bad we didn’t get an honest person running against them.

I will execute the duties of my office at will, as I want, and spent as I want, until I am kicked out.

The WHITE HORSE is watching this (BISD) election very closely, he will decide who win's. It's up to him.

Juan, why did you censor my several comments I have repeatly sent to you regarding the indicted people for the school board? Just because it includes the name of the sister in law of the person paying for the feature or maybe she paid you. Atkinson and Salazar have also been indicted and I don't see you bringing their names in, por que? No wonder Trump keeps referring to 'fake news!" Be objective, vato.

Powers never went to Florida.
