RIBBON CUTTING FOR A. GUILLEN NEW PCT. 1 WAREHOUSE

Ed.'s Note: The ribbon cutting of the new Cameron County warehouse was held Friday on Browne Road in Brownsville's southeast side. The warehouse was named after Anastacio Guillen, a longtime county road crew employee who served for more than 40 years. Members of his family and longtime work companions were on hand to dedicate the new building to their father and former work mate. Pct. 1 commissioner Sofia Benavides and Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino helped his widow cut the ribbon.)

Congratulations to the Guillen family and to the Patriack of the whole Guillen family he raised to be fine and kind citizens of our community, with many of them dedicating their lives to the education of our children.

Use this building with pride and honor of Mr. Guillen - known by many for his kindness and dedications. Well deserved honor; wish it could have been done when he was still with us.

Thanks to Commissioner Sofia Benavides Pct 1 has come along way. All the precincts have one. All are new. The County continues to grow. Commissioner Benavides has improved her Precints with numerous projects and continues to search for more.

Make a comparison of all the precincts in cameron county and you'll see precinct 1 is dead last on everything - like paved roads, sidewalks, garbage pickups, bus shelters, drainage, parks and many other necessities. Yes there is some improvements but not too many. Run don't walk Gavino!!!
