COMPETITION TOUGH IN CITY'S "MAKE B'TOWN GREEN" CONTEST! WILL IT BE CARDBOARD OR METAL, CARBON FOOTPRINT?

(Ed.'s Note: We understand that the judges on the Annual Recycler of the Year Award contest are deadlocked between the two driver of the red truck parked in the city central library lot and the man above making his way to Jim Wilkinson Iron & Metal Inc. with aluminum-can laden grocery store shopping cart.

These to left the City of Brownsville's recycling efforts in the dust as well as the city's pilot separate- your- trash program. No one funds these two purveyors of the "Make Browntown Green" movement except for the cash paid by recycling centers.

We hear that the judges are leaning toward the aluminum-can guy because he combines recycling with using a shopping cart which leaves no carbon footprint unlike the cardboard recycling guy. It doesn't appear that the truck is a flex-fuel vehicle so that may seal the deal. We'll keep you posted.)
