At first blush it seems like the board of the San Benito Independent School District is merely trying to perform house cleaning on its revision of its local rules.
But a closer look indicates that the board's majority will pass the local board rules revisions to keep embarassing agenda items aimed at removing President Michael Vargas by specifying the conditions that have to be present before he can be replaced.
An agenda item that sought to remove Vargas after he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated preceded by allegations he made inappropriate advances upon another man while in a conference and insulting a woman there in a drunken state failed in a vote.
But board insiders say that the rules revisions proposed only permit the board to reorganize in May or if a member resigns. If and when the president (like Vargas, say) then the vice president (Orlando Lopez) - with the board's consent - will assume the presidency of the board."Vargas will never resigns," he said. "The community spoke out at the last meeting and he and the majority just ignored the people.
The proposed revisions will be considered Thursday during a specially-called meeting. to held at 6 p.m. at the district's main office.

Only a State District Judge can issue an order of removal of a legally elected official in Texas. A petition for removal must be filed, a trial held on the merits and a factual determination made that there is a preponderance of evidence in support of one of the statutory basis for removal. Only then can the Judge issue and order of removal which is then subject to appeal to the 13th Texas Court of Appeals. The process can take years if the official pushes back. Until that happens he stays. Also, he maintains his right to vote on the Board until his successor is sworn in.

Mr. Vargas could have just called a Taxi,a friend or someone to take him home. If he would have just done that he would have saved the city of San Benito and the School District all this negative attention.
The Trump administration is claiming it's just a budget problem; as Evelyn Stauffer, spokeswoman for the Administration of Children and Families at Health and Human Services, said in a statement to NBC News: "Additional resources are urgently required to meet the humanitarian needs created by this influx—to both sustain critical child welfare and release operations and increase capacity."
Guess what? Part of child welfare is understanding that being isolated from your family and alone in a strange country is bad enough for a kid's head. Take away the chance to learn something and to play and you might as well be torturing them. But that's not a very big leap for an administration that couldn't understand why kidnapping children from their parents and locking them in cages was fundamentally disgraceful and horrifying. These people are truly monsters—and we have a feeling there's worse to come.

Who is worse, Erasmo or these San Benes two. Erasmo kept fighting over toilet paper in the last BISD board meeting. He and that lady perez reyes have used up so much money in travel and perks. What a mess.
When will the majority of the board grow up?? They are being bullied by a bunch of losers manipulating the truth for their own purposes. Unbelievable crap going on! LOSERS one and all!
