I AM SO SORRY to hear THAT JOEY CAN'T LIVE ON his thousands of dollars a year as a commissioner who doesn't have to show up to work? He is too tire of diving around in his many high class cars and eating at the best restaurants in Browntowm while the citizens of Cameron county get in return; NOTHING but flooding subdivisions and higher taxes. Between Trump and Obama, there is just no question that Obama exhibited more Christian behavior. I don’t think that phenomenon is exclusive to me. George W. Bush’s polling has gone way up since Trump. And I think it’s the same effect. I’ve heard people say that, looking back on Bush, they disagree with so much that he did, but they realize at least he thought he was doing the right thing. Which is a hell of a lot better than being happy to do the wrong thing. I have to say it: Trump has made me like Obama.

This POS stole money from a hospice home and the same hospice home that my father passed away in from health issues. The same home that I took some of his medical items because they survive on donations! Yet, this POS stole thousands and when he got caught, called on mommy to pull him out of the hole. If the ordinary American can "survive" on their measly pay checks on a day to day basis, then so can these elected officials! They knew what they were getting into and if the position is too much, then quit and go find a real job where you don't leach off the taxpayers!

Joey and the others who voted for this pay raise and tax increase are lousy public servants and really haven't done enough for the county to warrant this increase. They called victims of recent floods "whiners" and have failed to take any action to help those people. Those people will have to pay more taxes, in addition to repairing their homes and their lives. The County Commissioners are proving to be greedy and incompetent. I encourage all who read this to protest and show up at the public meetings to fight against this greed.

What is the average income of the locals in that area is it as LOW as down here? That question was not asked and was not answered. HIgh unemployment and low income wages and they want a raise equal to Dallas and arlingto BULLSHIT...

I was so relief while reading my home appraisal went down and I would pay less taxes this year, but as I kept reading to my property appraisal, I almost had a heart attack. It went up over 6,000 more than last year, and now I will be paying the same amount as year 2018. It's all a sham and scam! How can it go up that much in a short period of time? And then you have McNair with a street name and not paying any property taxes. They will always find a way to screw you in the end.
