May 2018 - Interlocal between County and Primera is approved unanimously.
Commissioner Gus Ruiz, Pct. 4, states he doesn’t need to pull any items from consent agenda.
(May 2018 Video 1, 2) – Interlocal agreement included in consent items; some are taken out for discussion. Comm Pct 4 does not abstain.
So what had changed between the first vote and the second? Shouldn't have Ruiz abstained from the first vote as well? Or has he unilaterally decide whether there is any conflict of interest on his own?

Es Bribe or no es Bribe? Conflict of Interest o no? folks you all be the judge. Big raise o no big raise? that is the question?
Gus "Da' Pussy" Ruiz has some explaining to do. Maybe he can explain himself before he votes for his "raise".
The potential for corruption seems high in the County Government. There seems to be no shame and no continuity of government procedures. These greedy bastards are taking advantage of the system and the taxpayers of Cameron County. Let's hope the house is full for the upcoming public forum on their pay raise. Greedy pendejos.
Instead of complaining in local blogs, all that curse, call names, SHOW UP to the county commissioners meeting, take a friend, a neighbor, get a good size crowd, find 1 or 2 good speakers and simply say to them that if they vote themselves a raise, to enjoy it while they can, the people will vote them out.
Our local Democrats have NO SHAME, they are no different than the orange baboon. I am ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED to see what inept people run our county.
You sir are a disgrace to the county Commissioner chair and you are a disgrace to the Marine core and WE the tax payers cannot support that type of Government waste. Shame on you Ruiz enjoy your last term in office you will not win again.
So easy to fix...during election time make the candidates sign a "promise not to seek a raise" if elected....y sasss se les acabo el P.E.D.O.
The solution is easy just tell the court to remove the port from our tax rolls and the pay raise will not be contested by the tax payers. DO IT!!!
