TENANTS OF FIRE-RAVAGED HOUSE IN FOR RUDE SURPRISE

 Special to El Rrun-Rrun

A rapidly-spreading fire in full bloom greeted firefighters of the Brownsville Fife Department when they answered a call to the blaze between the 9th and 10th on E. Monroe Street.

Firefighters say that the fire spread quickly and gutted the brick house and then jumped to the house next door, which sustained extensive damage to the upper floor. They say that no one was hurt or killed because they were not home at the time.

The neighbors were looking for four kittens that lived with one of the tenants of the brick house. The house was divided into four apartments. The firefighters battled the fearsome blaze with outside weather rising the heat index in the 110-plus degree range. In the middle picture firefighter Jorge Lerma and a fellow firefighter hydrate with cold water.

Some of the tenants were not time when the fire was detected and reported at about 4:30 p.m. so they will get a rude surprise upon their arrival tonight.

the community need to come together and help those two families.
If we can do it for others, why not for them. Hope the Red Cross comes through for them. No hay mal que por bien no venga. All will be well for the families soon.

Fire started at 916 E Monroe.

Total loss.

Fire caused the house next door to be a total loss too.

Property where fire started possibly owned by a real estate rental company.

While immigration is a complex issue, we are entirely capable of both securing our borders and treating migrants humanely. Even in this moment when nearly every debate feels polarized, Americans should all be able to agree at least on the paramount importance of protecting and caring for the children involved.

The owners of the Chicago Cubs, New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Jets, San Francisco Giants and the football team in Washington, D.C., have all contributed at least six figures to Trump’s reelection.

Different ethnic and religious groups which hated one another in Europe have over the last century or two gotten along pretty well in the United States, living together in neighborhoods and intermarrying with one another's group. The same has happened with Hispanics in many parts of this nation, particularly in California and the SW. The illegal immigration problem is an entirely different matter. If we had a president who could push for strong limits on immigration combined with civil discourse and benevolent views these problems would be less severe. YES, I AM SAYING THE PROBLEM IS TRUMP.

So sad.

Forget about Trump forget about immigration this is about a fire next door to Brownsville downtown fire station. They are not prepared. This fire is exactly 2 block from the station. The fire did not get out of control. The fire department is the one out of control. 6 fire engines at the scene, 1 dog, and in the photos everybody standing around out of shape. Get organized.
