Judge Mike Trejo is the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5, Place 3 in La Feria who has always dreamed of being county sheriff.Last May, the State Judicial Commission filed a public reprimand against him and an order of additional education for giving preferential treatment to dismiss traffic citations in 2017.
Apparently, it was done for certain people associated with a local musician, who’s also a political supporter known as Fruity Villarreal who plays for free at his campaign rallies.
At the time, Trejo denied the allegations against him and in a statement said, “I have never dismissed any tickets for any family members,” and noted that because he is not an attorney it is not “unreasonable for me to rely on the county’s legal department.”
Trejo said he would comply with “whatever procedures are decided upon by the proper authorities” and that he welcomes the additional educational hours required by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct as he remains “dedicated to dispensing justice in a fair and equitable manner.”
Well, it appears that Trejo is a either slow learner and may need an additional hours to read the canons dealing with lending his name and position and endorsing candidates for public office or – is dumb as a donkey or stubborn as a mule. Our apologies to those poor animals.
Now social media is replete with photos of Trejo attending political events and lending his support for the candidacy of Fred Peña for Cameron County Constable Pct. 5. Will it take another ear pulling by the commission to make our wayward JP cease and desist?

Cameron County Clerk Sylvia Garza-Perez also appears in the photo, but she is not a JP, municipal judge or in the judiciary. Sylvia is just a good politician and is plying her wares. Trejo is threading on a slippery slope.

Juan, he's always around these politicians!! You forgot to mention he was also taking photos with Constable Adrian "Corrupt" Gonzalez at his rally! Besides being a liar,gutless and incompetent Gonzalez is also known for his love of that white powdery substance that he bought from an undercover agent while working with the DA's office a couple of years back. That is why Gonzalez failed a drug test and was later fired. And well the word is Trejo is very fond of that powder also. So is because hes using his political pull or because of something else? Corruption always sticks together! Valley politicians doing what they do best!

juan its simple math, not sylvia's fault, last time this was the choice the voters wanted, so like many ppl say keep voting for her or if you want her out then vote for someone else to get her out. Joe rivera would do the same thing always out and about, making deals with the county venders, delinquet tax attys, microfiche firms etc, you remeber joe? So not much has changed or is different.

When the Tx Supreme Court Chief Justice violated these same Canons, the Judicial Commision looked the other way, move along nothing to see here folks

Trejo has a very questionable dark cloud over him for years. Allegations of spousal abuse, involved in dope and supposedly let his GF or spouse go to jail for him and abusing towing vehicles with some possible kickbacks? I know Juan, there is nothing in stone BUT there should be paperwork in the CC department if Lucio didn't cover because of daddy trejo? And there are deputies who were around when they responded to this POS residence for disturbances!
This guy is just a plain phony who only appears in public, like now! The only problem is that the voters who support him are just plain stupid not to see through his BS or happy with BBQ plates for a vote!
I will vote for Jaimez and only because this trejo is questionable and I foresee a federal investigation in the future! Remember, a leopard cannot change their spots!
